Nestled within the Chiado district, Plant Base presents a concealed entrance that may easily be overlooked, as I initially did. However, upon entering, a remarkable transformation occurs. The interior is spacious and features two distinct dining areas: one situated near the entrance and the other situated around the corner, adjacent to the bar.
Read moreWhile the description of Plant Base suggests that it serves “junk food,” I strongly disagree. The culinary offerings here are exceptional. I have visited Plant Base twice within a week, and each time, I have been pleasantly surprised.
On my first visit, I indulged in The Special Burger, a delectable creation featuring a Beyond Burger patty, vegan cheese, caramelized onions, fried onions, tomatoes, cucumber pickles, and sriracha mayonnaise, all nestled on a red onion bun.
On my second visit, I opted for the JHOL MOMO, a culinary masterpiece consisting of steamed Himalayan Momos immersed in a delectable tomato curry, complemented by red onions and cilantro.
In my opinion, I have discovered my favorite Plant Base dish. The JHOL MOMO boasts a harmonious blend of flavors, with a touch of heat that resonated with my preferences. Its deep, rich taste left me thoroughly satisfied.

We got two types of pizza, garlic bread and homemade ice tea. All the food was amazing and the drinks especially delicious. The seating was a bit uncomfy and it was quite hot inside but it didn't impact the experience much.

Der Laden hat eher diesen unkomplizierten Fastfood-Vibe, aber ehrlich gesagt: Genau so einen deftigen Snack habe ich an dem Tag gebraucht. Hat echt gut geschmeckt. Ich hatte eine relativ normale Pizza (mit veganem Käse!) es gab aber noch mehr, auch etwas ausbefallenere Optionen wie z.b. die Burgerpizza. Zusätzlich hab ich noch loaded Nachos gegessen, die waren auch sehr gut und hatten eine große Menge Guacamole.

vibey little restaurant with a fully vegan menu and plenty of variety. we had a crazy pizza that was garlic bread base with soya mince, peppers and onions, as well as a more typical mushroom one. both were nice! the mac and cheese was good too, and the iced caramel latte was heavenly for a lunch time visit!

We stopped by for an early dinner. It was very warm given indoor seating and minimal air circulation (no AC) on a hot summer evening. The interior is fine but the bathrooms were very deterring (but technically usable).

- Loaded Nachos: just okay; was disappointed by the very runny consistency and kinda artificial flavoring of the vegan cheeses; guacamole was okay but didn’t taste particularly fresh
- Margherita Pizza: the vegan cheese tastes better for the pizza but the slices were oily and had a very soft crust
- Jhol Momo: first time trying momos and thought they were quite good! Flavorful enough dumplings in a slightly spicy sauce
