My husband and I were interested in exploring a new-to-us part of Malaga and found ourselves looking for dinner. La Faina popped up as not too far from where we were and based on their fairly extensive vegan menu, we went over. The restaurant was clean and quiet on rather nondescript street. We sat outside and were attended to immediately by the owner. While we speak okay daily life Spanish, the owner was very capable in English and we had our questions answered.

My husband ordered the vegetarian lasagna, which comes with garlic bread. The owner suggested using vegan cheese so that we could share it. It was a pizza base with vegan cheese, oregano and garlic. It was very very good too.
I ordered the Mediterranea pizza.
The main meals came out. The vegetarian pizza was served in a disposable aluminum pan and had a very dry top. My husband wasn't sure if he would eat it all as it was quite large and joked that it already was in a to-go container. I guess we didn't need to worry about that as the flavors were great and he finished it off at the restaurant.
My pizza was heavy on the toppings. Loads of onions and black olives, nice amounts of (unbreaded) eggplant/aubergine and a ton of vegan cheese. It was all very tasty and well seasoned. As a matter of personal preference, I *don't* love a large amount of melted vegan cheese because of the gummy texture. Next time, I will ask for them to only use a small amount of cheese. However, if you like a ton of cheese, you'll be happy.
We ended up bringing some of the pizza and garlic bread home which reheated well.
Can't wait to go back.

Great vegan pizza in Málaga - Edit
Honestly, so so good!! An entire section of the menu is dedicated to vegan food and the food was absolutely delicious! We had the BBQ and the Mexicana. They were amazing and we were able to take leftovers away with us. The restaurant is run by a family from Buenos Aires who were absolutely lovely and gave such a warm welcome and excellent service! We couldn't resist coming away with extras including olives, kombucha, Argentinian beer and sweets. Would recommend to anyone!

We‘ve been here 2018 for the first time. The restaurant was enlarged in 2021 and has a bathroom now. Pizza and faina (chickpea dough) is great. Staff is kind and remembered us after four years. Eating at la faina ist always a great idea.

Wonderful place, the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and extensive menu of vegan pizzas (with vegan cheese and meat substitutes). We always go when we are in Malaga and while still good for takeaway, if you have the opportunity to eat in the restaurant the pizzas are even better!

They also insisted we sit inside to eat with our 2 dogs on a hot day and gave them a big bowl of cold water so we could all be comfortable which was very kind.

We received a very warm welcome. The waitress and the owners were really hospitable. The food was very delicious. I ate the best vegan pizza there ever. Added to this was the delicious dessert, which was prepared and served with love. The waitress and the owner were very open and we had a nice conversation. They even invited us to wait a little longer in the restaurant even though it was very late as we had a late flight. Then they called us a taxi. You really felt very comfortable and noticed that it is important to the owners that you feel at home.
