With non-fully vegan restaurants you can only allot 4 stars, but i would say thats fairly accurate for Pepper Asian Bistro.
Food prep was fast for my takeout order, when I arrived I was greeted immediately and asked wether I was here to Pick-up or not. Service then is great, even on this busy Friday Night.
The portions for the curry are large which is reflective of the cost, the flavor is rich and the base is creamy. The tofu seemed like it was cooked before adding in which I appreciate, some restaurants will slice the tofu and add it straight from the package, this wasn’t the case. They cooked a nice thick/firm skin onto the tofu making it feel more like a “protein” rather than a cheap substitute for steak or chicken.
The Kung-Pao Tofu had the same effect, it was good but it lacked enough sauce. It was present in the dish, but I could’ve really benefited from more leftover at the bottom of the dish to mix with all the white rice they give.
Certainly with what I ordered there will be left overs, so don’t let the total price I listed above scare you, it easily will become 2 meals.
I’d love to try some of their other options and if I’m in the area again would be interested to dine-in if things work out that way. Thank you Pepper Asian Bistro
