I ordered the alheira bruschetta and the Portuguese bitoque. I'm going to be honest and say that it definitely wasn't my favorite vegan restaurant I have been too. It tasted very bland in my opinion. However, it was still very good and I finished it all by myself no problem.. I was very stuffed. I wish I had time to go back and try something else! Oh and the egg on the bitoque is crazy unreal!! I'm always in support of vegan businesses so glad Faro turned out to be very vegan friendly!

We had great service- amazing starters (clams and bruschetta), nice mains (burger and tofu curry) and a dessert which wasn’t our taste but still fine to eat cheesecake).

So happy to have eaten here. Left Lisbon very early...no time for breakfast. Train had nothing vegan. So by the time I got here, I was starving.

I had the tofu marsala. Tofu cubes, mushroom and cream sauce over brown rice. Very tasty and filling. Coffee was good. Looked brewed rather than the foamy stuff that looks like a latte but isn't 😋 €9 total.
Cute little restaurant on the second floor, not sure what the first floor is.
Very nice friendly staff. Will be back for more on my way back to Lisbon.

There‘s the good as well as the bad - Edit
First thing - service was great, for sure. Also the prices are reasonable and the menu is kinda special. But the taste just leaves... something to wish for. Almost everything we‘ve ordered was missing salt and spices. The mayonaise tasted like nothing and didn‘t go well with the chips and so on. The menu is strangely declared, e.g. I got a matcha bagel with my burger, probably gluten-free, while there was written „toasted bread“. Kinda strange. I don‘t know, staff was great and probably the ingredients were too, but I wasn‘t too pleased with the food overall even though some points about it were quite nice.

We were walking around the small streets of Faro and finally found “otro lado” and so happy we did! All vegan menu, really cheap and amazing staff, we were three people together and got the three different menus of the day, and they were all amazing!!

I think I’ve tried almost everything in their menu and without doubt is the best vegan restaurant in Faro (and nearby cities) Everything is made from scratch so you’ll exercise a slow food concept but you won’t regret to wait! Don’t worry if you’re in a hurry, during lunch time they have a great and tasty menu offer of 10€ with soup main dish desert coffee.
Read moreIt’s a layback place not only for vegan but for those would like to reduce the meat intake: it’s unbelievable their vegan ‘bitoque’ (Portuguese steak, egg and fries). All wines and beer are vegan too! I strong recommend this place for an informal dinner or special occasion!

Outro Lado is a vegan restaurant near the centre of Faro and just 2 minutes from the bus station. Visited Outro Lado during lunch time. Unfortunately, they didn’t prepare most of the desserts then, there would only have been a fruit salad, no cakes. I was a bit disappointed to learn that and I really don’t get it why they don’t start earlier so that they can offer what’s on the menu. Apart from that, everything was fine. Nice staff, delicious food. Lots of choice – everything is vegan. Waiting time can be a bit longer - obviously everything is freshly prepared.

We shared some hummus with some bread and vegetables which was great! Then we had burgers with mushrooms plus black beans and chickpeas plus beetroot. Both had chips on the side with a awesome garlic dip!

Nice restaurant and shop in Central Faro - Edit
We had a very nice meal. We shared some nice olives and bread. The freshly made juices were also very nice. My boyfriend had a nice tofu curry with cashews and I had the mushroom stroganoff which was nice. I had the raw cheesecake or dessert and it was lovely. The staff was very friendly and helpful

The people who run this couldn’t be nicer. It’s a great space. The wine was lovely. Sadly, the food was disappointing. None of the starters appealed, they were unimaginative. The main courses didn’t even give a nod to Portuguese cuisine. We had the tofu curry which was average and the rice was over cooked. We ordered the raw cheesecake which was just bland. When our lively server realised we didn’t like it she kindly offered an alternative. We chose a chocolate, caramel peanut muffin which was better but still not good, dry and lacking flavour. I hate to post this as they are obviously trying and we heard the cooks reaction to our feedback over the cheesecake (she was upset).
