Only one vegan option that was meh but delicious vegetarian options! - Edit
Made a reservation in advance for a Saturday night dinner, which was probably the right move as it was quite busy at the restaurant. Although it was a cool vibe atmosphere-wise with kind staff, it was quite noisy and hard to maintain conversation.
Read moreThe menu was extremely limited as there was only one vegan appetizer (market salad and one vegan entree (grilled maitake) as well as one vegetarian appetizer (crispy cauliflower) and two vegetarian entrees (paccheri pomodoro burrata and spaghetti cacio e pepe). While the staff were attentive, they weren’t particularly knowledgeable of vegetarian vs. vegan dietary restrictions or of modifications to existing dishes listed on the menu, so that was disappointing.
Half our party ordered fish dishes, and the other half ordered veggie-friendly dishes (see below):
- Crispy cauliflower (appetizer): good but a bit dry and likely included egg in the basil aioli sauce as it was not listed as being fully vegan on the menu)
- Burrata (appetizer): delicious but not vegan
- Paccheri pomodoro burrata (main): it was tasty but didn’t seem special or unique
- Grilled maitake (vegan main): didn’t have much flavor and was a small portion size
- [FISH]: fettuccine al granchio: delicious crab and a generous portion size
- [FISH]: steelhead salmon: also delicious
Veggies tasted fresh (and were supposedly all from Union Square market). But this is definitely primarily a fish restaurant so vegetarians/vegans beware!!

Nice place, limited offerings - Edit
Staff are very accommodating and personable. I came here as a group of 5, being the only vegan. The restaurant was very popular that evening, we waited for 30 minutes for a table, however staff kept us updated and let us peruse the menu and also make a wine selection.
Read moreOn offer for me, there was one mushroom ragú dish. The rest of the menu was very fish based, and use of italian cheeses.
Despite only having really one thing that I could have, aside from bread, I had a really nice dinner here.
I think it’s a lovely restaurant if you are in a party with omni’s, but be prepared to have your meal choice made for you.
Pros: friendly staff, nice ambience
Cons: very limited vegan options

Perfect omni restaurant to go to with friends - Edit
The food, the drinks, and the service are always top-notch. There’s a rotating vegan pasta option, and they often have a vegan app and vegan dessert too. I love the ambiance of this place and frequent it often.

Quaint and Delicious Italian Restaurant - Edit
The atmosphere and the food were quite nice. We ate inside where we enjoyed the nice decor and quiet atmosphere. The next time we go back, we will try the outdoor seating with individual private eating areas.
Read moreA few items on the menu are marked vegan, but there are several additional items that can be prepared vegan. We had the honey carrots and the roasted potato side dishes as our appetizer. The potatoes were really good, but the carrots were outstanding. For dinner we enjoyed the veganized fusilli al porcini. Even without the cheese there was a lot of flavor to the dish. This was a nice restaurant to go to with people who do not want a plant based restaurant. The vegan and non vegan dishes were enjoyed equally within our party.

Limited Vegan Options - Edit
Osteria57 had a couple of vegan starters and one vegan main course. I ordered the harvest salad which was small to medium-sized for $19. No protein add-on options. The main course vegan option was pasta without protein. The drinks were fantastic, albeit expensive - $16 each. Service was slow despite the fact that the staff required we order all meal items at once.
