Organic Excellence…! - Edit
When we were in Lisbon, we couldn’t resist checking out the vegan spots on Happy Cow. One of the top-rated restaurants we found was Organi Chiado, which is just a short walk from our place in the Bairro-Alto. So, we decided to go for lunch and see what all the fuss was about!
Read moreThe place was already packed when we got there, but the inside had a cool, sophisticated vibe. Our server was super friendly and attentive. Of course, all that sightseeing had made us thirsty, so we started with a couple of super cold Super Bocks.
For our main course, we shared an appetizer of bread and pâtés. Oh my gosh, the spreads were amazing! There were three different ones: Basil Tofu, Olives-Walnut, and Peanut Butter-Apple. All of them were delicious, but the Basil Tofu was my favorite. It was so refreshing and smooth, and it was unlike anything I’d ever tasted before — not made out of tofu, anyway.
Organi Chiado has two different specials that change (I believe) every day, and on our first visit, we both couldn’t resist the Braised Tofu (served with lime rice, a side salad, and tempura veggie crisp). It was incredible! Hands down, the best food we’d had up to that point. And the prices were surprisingly reasonable, considering how fancy the place was.
We left feeling totally satisfied and made a mental note to come back to Chiado Organi soon. But guess what? The very next day, we went to another vegan restaurant that was a total disaster. We were so hungry and disappointed that we ran straight back to Organi to save the day! (This time around, again, we shared a larger order of the bread and pâtés; I did cheesy penne pasta; Jay the lasagna. And, too, we shared a pecan pie with house-made ice cream. O.M.G…!!!) And not only did it save us, but we also got to catch up with our friend from the day before, which was really nice.
Simply awesome!!!
Pros: Food!!!, Service!!!, Anbiance!!!
Cons: Loved it ALL…!!!

Delicious, healthy, plant-forward vegan food! - Edit
Delicious, healthy, vegetable-forward vegan food. Loved being able to get a whole foods/plant-based (WFPB)/macrobiotic type meal. Everything is artfully prepared with great attention to detail. The trio of pâtés (dips) and rice bread is a staple here and was excellent, especially the tofu basil dip. I absolutely loved the veggie burger, which is essentially a deconstructed burger, with the patty served topped with tasty garnishes and accompanied by a mound of rice (white or brown upon request), a side salad, a slice of beet, and a slice of orange. I also really enjoyed the chicory caffeine-free “coffee.” I will definitely come back on my next visit to Lisbon and would look forward to trying the widely-recommended pecan pie.

Loved this place! It has a great vibe and cute outdoor seating. The presentation and taste of the food was great. We split the pate which was so good and I got a veggie burger.

WE started with a covert of bread and pates. Personal favorite was the peanut pate, but my husband loved the olive tapenade. I had the mango tofu for dinner, hubby had the pasta. Both excellent. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly

Fully vegan - Edit
Organi is located on a stair passage between two touristy streets and therefore gets a fair share of customers, some of them not even realizing it is a fully vegan restaurant. The service was good. The food not so much. I would skip ceasar salad - while it visually might resemble one, it does not taste like one. Rigatoni were okay. The best of all the food was chocolate cake, but it could have used a bit of whipped cream or fresh berries. Portions could have been bigger.

Oh so lovely 🥰 - Edit
Aaaahhhhhh, so happy to get a great vegan meal in an all vegan restaurant in Lisbon. It is easier nowadays but not easy, and my memory of eating white bread and olives and a lettuce and onion salad in an expensive bar are my most recent experiences.
Read moreThis place actually has amazing food. We will be back to try more but at this point we did the Caesar salad with tofu (to be honest my least favorite), the rice bread (wow), the Caprese salad (wow), the pâté (yes!), and the organic olives. We also had the organic red wine (5 euros, so inexpensive comparatively), and the gin and tonic.
This is a place to make reservations we were lucky enough to walk in when they were just opening but they quickly got very full . They have indoor outdoor seating, we tried outdoor seating initially but without reservations we were very crowded by our neighbors, so we went inside which was almost empty when we got here.
We are definitely going to be back to try some of those delicious dishes that came to other tables while we were here .

Fresh and delicious - Edit
We stopped for lunch without a reservation and were fortunate enough to get a table. We each had a smoothie and we shared the rice bread, both were outstanding. Definitely order the rice bread if you eat here! I had the soup (mushroom, super tasty) and husband had the vegetable salad with quinoa (veggies were perfectly roasted). Highly recommend this place, and dont forget to make a reservation.

Surprisingly amazing! - Edit
I thought the photos of the food here looked a bit washed out and I wasn't totally convinced. Ended up trying it and was amazed by the trio of dips and the penne pasta was so tasty - really worth trying. The Thai curry was good but I'd recommend the pasta. Really nice flavour.

Had a lovely dinner here, in such a calm space with amazingly attentive service! Loved trying the cashew cheese starter, Brazilian bean stew (ask for the hot sauce if you like spice!), Caeser salad, penne pasta, and berry cheesecake. Everything was delicious and very healthy — all whole food, no sugar, etc.

Vegan but not special - Edit
It's a vegan restaurant, but dont expect fine food. I had a bowl with quinoa, avocado, sweet potato etc. It was OK and portions are generous. The creamy sauce was insipid. It's a good option for lunch in the crowded touristic city center. I was annoyed by the fact that there isn't any paper menu, only qr code. But staff is friendly. They offered a blanquet if you eat outside on the terrasse. Nice street atmosphere.

Average at best - Edit
Based on reviews this was very disappointing. The menu seemed to have far less options than the reviews suggested, and there was very little creativity compared to other vegan restaurants I've tried in Portugal. The food was lukewarm/cold. I have always enjoyed the artesan beers served at vegan restaurants, but disappointingly of the limited options one was super bock (or sagres). And for wine options, it wasn't possible to get a glass of vinho verde or fizz. Finally, on booking I added a note that it was a birthday celebration - no mention was made of this by the waiting staff at all.

Even though I am not a fan of meat replicas, I was very surprised with the consistency and texture of the vegan chouricos, they are very well prepared. The same with the cashew cheese, it reminded me if the typical Portuguese goat cheese.

Cons: Tema propina
