Nice

I went to Optimus Cafe today for lunch with my best friend and it was nice, she tried the Optimus bowl and the soy fried meat and I had a soy meat peta with truffle fries and a tiramisu for dessert.
Everything was good except for the smoothie my friend had for dessert the Be Beautiful because she didn't like the taste of beet in it but that's her preference more than the quality of the beverage.

Pros: Great plant based meats , Cosy

Cons: Far from a lot of things

Vegan bowls

They offer mainly vegan bowls. We got the Optimus bowl and the soy meat bowl and they were pretty similar besides the protein parts. The Optimus bowl came with an interesting corn fritter which was new to me. Healthy bowls.

There are few tables on the terrace available; offers a nice river view.
Inside are more tables with air conditioning.

You see the menu and order via QR-code. It didn’t take long for our food to arrive. But later we ordered another drink and that took quite a while for being just a drink.

Pros: Outdoor seating with river view

Enjoy delicious vegan food with a view

Small shop with both inside and outside seating overseeing a river in Osaka. Serves delicious food, both sweet and savory. English speaking staff.

Genius

A beautiful cafe in such a pretty part of Osaka, sit inside in the cool AC or risk the heat outside for beautiful views of the river.
We stayed across the road at the onsen so we went here a couple times and the biggest highlight which we didn’t get a pic of was the French toast. This place is worth 5 stars alone just for that. It was unreal, like it was actual egg fried French toast with cream and maple syrup. If you’re missing French toast since going vegan, you gotta try this spot.

Pros: French toast , Have a good day breakfast set , Location

Fried soy meat goodness!

So many great options to pick from! Friendly staff with badges to indicate English speaking staff. Nice view overlooking the river and the food is delicious! The buddha bowls looked great but we went for the fried soy meat sando and plate with corn fritters and fries and was very happy with the result! The pita gave me that sandwich feeling i’ve been craving and it didn’t disappoint.

Pros: Fried soy meat, Location and view, Friendly staff

One of the best Vegan restaurants in Osaka

Overall, excellent food. Their karage is incredibly tasty. The soy ramen is one of the best ramens that I have ever tried. Fully recommended place!
On too of this, if you sit outside, you have an amazing view of the Tosahori river.

Pros: Tasty food, Excellent vegan ramen, Good views in outside seating area

Healthy and tasty

After a few days eating street food I really appreciated some vegetables and a healthy option. We had a green kale salad, some corn fritters, a fried soy pieces bowl with veggies, and smoothies. It was all very tasty and good quality.

Could be better

Their service was wonderful, very lovely staff and maybe I just caught them on an off day however their pita was not good at all. It was overstuffed in a way to try and make it look photogenic but it made eating it unpleasant with giant clumps of carrot taking up your entire bite and the base of it was just lettuce. The flavour profile itself was also questionable. Pickled vegetables that were slightly spicy every few bites, soggy yet dry at the same time. Also the orange juice tasted powdered. The falafels alone as a side were wonderful though.

Bowls, smoothies, coffee

Awesome cafe with a great location at the river. The Optimus Bowl was amazing, so was the Matcha Latte. I appreciate that they even push the vegan message in their branding and even recommend documentaries on their menu 🫶
Will definitely go again to try other bowls, have some smoothies and desserts!

Pros: Vegan by heart, Fantastic location, Great bowl variety

Cons: A little focused on environmental veganism

Pros: wunderschöne Aussicht, tolle Location, geringe Wartezeit

Cons: mangelnder Service, kleine Auswahl, fehlende Flexibilität

Maybe better for lunch?

I went when it first opened for breakfast. There were 2 kinds of toast (avocado and french), oatmeal, a yogurt bowl and a breakfast meal. All of the toasts are one piece cut in half.

I ordered the breakfast meal, as it looked the most substantial. It had a sausage (small, not much flavour), tofu eggs (about 2 tbsp, bitter with too much turmeric), potatoes (2 wedges that were undercooked), salad (tasty) and one piece of hummus toast (best part, excellent bread). I also got organic orange juice, which tasted like it was from a bottle and sweetened.

Based on this, I wouldn’t go again. The bread, however, is excellent.

Pros: Fresh baked bread, Fast service (but we were the only ones there), Open earlier than most places

Cons: Small portions, Very little variety, Food flavours

amazing experience

I ate here twice, one time with the lunch menu and one time the breakfast menu.
everything was delicious, the prices were fitting and the ratio between price and quality was perfect. the french toast is highly recommended but everything was so good, definitely will come back. when it's busy you'll have to wait but even the ten minute wait the first time I came around was worth it. amazing place. if you eat outside, the view is stunning. if you're vegan and make it to osaka, this is a must visit place!

Solid spot for brunch on the river

We really enjoyed this spot and it's right on the river. The portions are a little small but it's a gem in Osaka for sure.

Soy milk ramen at weekend lunch

I’m shocked that nobody seems to have posted about the soy milk ramen, which is divine. So rich and delicious, I couldn’t finish it, which was too bad because I also was really looking forward to trying a dessert. I could not believe how good it was, especially considering this was not a dedicated ramen place. My dining companion had the Buddha bowl and also loved their meal. The Buddha bowl was a little on the small side for him but I felt my ramen was a little bigger than most people would need, so portioning seems a little uneven. We also split the kale citrus salad which was a nice small size and perfect for a side dish. Overall everything was great.

Lovely cafe but arrive early

Lovely cafe with a nice view of the river if you sit in the patio area. 20 min after they have opened in the morning the place was already full, so arrive early. The service was a bit slow, 30min to get the order ready. Food was good.

Pros: Nice view, Good food

Cons: You might need to line up if not arriving early , Slow service

Good food, good view

I had a Buddha bowl with fried soy and ate every last bit. The matcha was also pretty decent considering I don't usually enjoy it.

Pros: Wide menu, Views when sat outside

Amazing location, small portions

Really lovely view if you sit outside, menu is all vegan and lots of drinks options. Most of the breakfast foods are toasts of some type, with one granola bowl and one yogurt fruit bowl. If you're super hungry for breakfast order two toasts they're not particularly big (they're also not crazy expensive)

Pros: Atmosphere, Friendly, Location

Cons: Small portions

Delicious food, great view

We had lunch the first time we went to Optimus, and it was great. They must have accidentally served my meal to the table behind us as I received the food about 20 mins after my partner’s meal. We sat outside and enjoyed the view even though it was cold out.

We went back a couple of days later for breakfast and loved it! The French toast was incredible we ended up ordering it twice. The set menu deal is great as it comes with a coffee/tea/juice for only ¥200 yen more.

Would highly recommend!

Filling and tasty brekky, good vegan option near Yodoyabashi and Kitahama Station

The space is bigger than it looks from the outside, they offer both breakfast and lunch options.

We had the set brekky which came with a black coffee, the coffee was okay but the breakfast was very tasty.
