Wow wow wow !!!

#Veganuary

One of a kind!

Need to be ready for the idea of 9 small unique organic vegan dishes.
Fixed menu.
Each dish in the menu is an experience and deserves a story.
Unbelieable mixture of tastes.
To be remembered

The food is incredible, the experience could be improved

Opa serves an 11-course tasting menu. The dishes are unique, complex, and surprising, with combinations of ingredients and flavors you won't find anywhere else. It's not cheap, but well worth the money. I especially liked the cold raspberry-asparagus soup (sound weird? Wait till you try it!), the carrot carpaccio, the cabbage skewers, the celery cream tartlets... really, everything is amazing and you never know what you're going to get.

On the other hand, while the price is high, this is not a real fine-dining experience. The atmosphere is very casual (last time I was there, our waiter was wearing shorts and a Nike t-shirt), the music can be obnoxious, and most annoyingly, the only option offered is to share all dishes - you'll be sharing everything from soup to ice cream. I personally find this very unpleasant and it really feels like the place is trying to skimp rather than offer its customers the best experience. It becomes even more awkward if you have an odd number of diners at the table, as the dishes are meant to be shared by two people. It also means solo diners are out of luck.

Pros: Unique and creative dishes , Food you won't find anywhere else , Good service

Cons: The only option is to share all dishes , The casual atmosphere does not match the price

WOW

If you’re debating visiting this spot and wondering if it’s worth the $, it is. If you can allow yourself to dine here, I cannot recommend it enough. The food was absolutely incredible. Flavors I’ve never experienced before. The staff here is super knowledgeable about every dish they serve and constantly coming to check on you. Make a reservation ahead of time!

Opa Tel aviv

We arrived to the restaurant in honor of a friend's birthday who wanted to visit here for a long time. The atmosphere of the restaurant is minimalist and aesthetic, there is no decoration or item that steals the focus from the dishes and you know you are coming not to fill the stomach but to provide a fun experience for your palate and eyes.
And now for the review taste wise, some of the dishes were simply sublime (my favorite are were the plum and mushrooms dishes) with super intense and complex flavors that make you linger in wonder and want the dish to never end.
other dishes were just nice and their taste was pretty standard (such as the kohlrabi and seaweed soup).
All the dishes were served beautifully and meticulously and were eye-catching.
The service was also very meticulous and the dishes came out like a well timed clock as the waiters mention their name and the ingredient as well as the correct form to eat it when served.
It is definitely an experience worth trying at least once to celebrate some special occasion.

Pros: unique dishes, fully vegan

Cons: expensive, small portion

Perfection

Opa is absolutely high cuisine of the very best kind. The Food is inventive, yet simple. Shirel Berger is an outstanding chef. Most dishes are based on one ingredient that is prepared in a variation of ways to form one dish. Timing, combination and portions are perfect (against some other reviews). You can taste every bite in perfect harmony.
The wine list is excellent too. A real culinary experience!

Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothing

Exorbitantly Priced

While this restaurant is modern, fresh and well-designed, and the food is creative, the portions are so small as to be ridiculous. The menu can be degustation or not. We were 3 people and each course was divided into 3 which meant that we had little more than a mouthful each. Barely enough to appreciate!! Even the "main course" was tiny, in fact the same size as the other courses. The wine too, while excellent, was meagre in quantity and very expensive.

Pros: Delicious, modern decor, Great desert

Cons: Tiny portions, Extremely expensive, Inappropriate music

superb gastronomic place for foodies!!

I was waiting long time for this place to open, and finally it did!
this is the place to enjoy creative seasonal vegetable dishes, on the edge of experimental way of preparing, with deep tastes and surprising flavors. real plant based fine dining kitchen for real foodies!
it is *not* the place for burgers, wraps, crepes or smoothies. portions are small-moderate.
a real value for money for this kind of food, and a rare find, by all means.

Pros: experiment the deal for the all small menu.

unique and innovative מיוחד מאוד ומומלץ

The place just opened and is lead by the chef responsible to the great Miss Kaplan (which was closed).
Small menu, based almost only on vegetables and fruits. each dish had one main vegetable/fruit ingredient with very interesting sauces and garnishes (again, mainly vegetables and nuts, herbs and spices), no lentils/beans/grains etc.. Very creative, unique and innovative food. Great experience even if not all dishes were similarly tasty. Very nice and comfortable space, attentive service. only one thing: the portions are extremely small, and you simply must not get there hungry (the prices are on the high end, I think it's understandable, but the portions are too small to my opinion). Still, I highly recommend to come (just be prepared to small portions and don't come too hungry) Reservations will be probably required.

The chef at Miss Kaplan was Ori Shavit, this is a different chef.

Andrea, actually the chef of Miss Kaplan wan NOT ori. Ori managed the place but she was NOT the chef. Unfortunately Shirel (who I dont know, nothing personal) didn't get the credit she deserved for her great dishes there...
