Fully vegan, delicious okonomiyaki - Edit
Great place, great atmosphere delicious food, self-service drinks.
Read moreThe lady running this place is a delight. We knew there would be a queue, if we had had access to internet we would have gone out shopping after taking a number but we couldn't check the queue position without phone data, it was still well worth the wait.
Pros: Delicious , Cosy, Fun
Cons: Long queue

Great, non-traditional okononiyaki - Edit
Vegan okonomiyaki with a variety of non-traditional topping options. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very fun. The restaurant is very small and would not work for a group larger than four people (even four would be a tight fit).

Amazing experience - Edit
The owner is super nice and does everything on her own. We were amazed by how she does it. We were there 15 minutes before it opens but still didn't make the first round and had to come back after one hour with our number. The food was such a cool experience, you get to choose all of your topings and we didn't have to wait for very long. All in all super recommend! Next time i would just come 30 minutes before opening to get in with the first round. You have to wait either way and this way you'll probably have the shortest waiting time.

IMO Worth The Wait! - Edit
This place is a one woman show. Kudos to her, she does absolutely everything. I mean everything, so be patient, once your bum is on a seat you will get served and treated with haste and care.
Read moreFood was worth it in my opinion. Print a ticket at the kiosk from the top of the stairway. Scan the QR code to see your place in line. Enter your email to be notified when it's near your turn to come eat. Don't do what we did and wait outside for a couple of hours. Print your ticket and come back!!!
I do wish everything was vegan, as the animals would prefer that but vegetarians do have the option to eat egg.
Kudos to the owner, a very special young woman trying her heart out.

Long wait but worth it - Edit
Huge wait for this place at all hours of the night, understandable because it’s one woman doing all the cooking.
Read moreThe okonomoyaki was great, but the vegan gyoza were the best I’ve had in Japan so far. Such a fun place and great to be able to try this classic food as a vegan.

Vale pena esperar - Edit
Informal e com ambiente descontraído e divertido. Provámos as guiozas e o okonomiyaki e gostamos bastante. Bebidas baratas e de qualidade. Esperamos uma hora e meia mas o sistema de senhas do restaurante permite passear pelos arredores enquanto se espera.

3 hour wait times. Alright. - Edit
Okonomiyaki was ok but really not worth the wait time. It has a ticket machine so you can explore the area while you wait but wouldn't say it's worth planning your day around.

Deserves 5 stars - Edit
What a fun place! OKO is basically a one-woman show, with the owner doing literally everything. And wow does she do it well. Delicious food with vegan options for appetizers and main. Very cheap beer (¥180!) and such a fun atmosphere with Japanese girl band pop punk music and brightly coloured walls. We got there at opening time and there were already people waiting. Not a problem as you get a number with a QR code so you can wander around or get a drink elsewhere while you wait. Scan the QR code to see how much longer the wait is (1 hour in our case). Great system. English menu is available. Such reasonable prices, cash only. Must visit while in Osaka!!

Amazingggg - Edit
The food was just amazing. The owner is so sweet, she is doing all the work. I would definitely go back just for her. But the waiting time is long(even though its worth the wait), try to get there early or go really late after 12.30 maybe. I would recommend taking the ticket first and then roaming around Dotonbori (you can track your waiting time online) till its your turn.

Long wait but worth waiting for to try vegan okonomyaki - Edit
Separate vegan and veggie menu, you can customize your own okonomyaki and choose the size plus 5 veggies. Vegan cheese comes at an extra charge. Try to come in when they open at 18:00 and grab a ticket from the machine. The place is run by one person so the queue can sometimes take two hours. We arrived at 18:30 and waited about 45 minutes. Also, it's greasy so maybe not the right place if you're not a fan of greasy food. But great to go with non vegans since there are non vegan options available.

I would have given 5 stars but it isn't fully vegan / veggie so Happy Cow won't allow it. Lots of v options, food and drink is at a ludicrously good price, the atmosphere is perfect and the gal that runs the place is a gem!

Amazing place! - Edit
Absolutely amazing okonomiyaki place in Osaka.
Read moreThe owner does it all herself, from taking orders, to cooking, cleaning and taking payments. It only seats 14 people and there is always a long queue out the door.
There's a ticket system at the front door where you get a ticket and can then check online where in the queue you are.
Be aware, the first night we tried to go we waited well over 2 hours before giving up, so the second night we were there 30 mins before opening!
You serve yourself alcohol and other drinks.
Owner is lovely, such a cool and fun place!

We arrived on time for the opening and there were already 3 people waiting. So come on time if you don’t want to wait for a table! The owner was really sweet and the food was amazing. We were 2 people and shared the fried noodles and one okonomiyaki size M and it was very filling

So worth the wait - Edit
We loved this place. Partner and I arrived just after 6 and were 7th in line. It was a 2 hour wait. This didn't bother usas we got to walk around Dotonbori, do some shopping, and experience Osaka nightlife.

Long wait but worth it - Edit
As others have said be prepared to wait 2-3 hours. We came at about 6:40 and we were 9th in line. We got a notification about 2.5 hours later that our table was ready. This was fine with us and we were able to walk around and explore Osaka at night in this time. The food was phenomenal and so cheap for food and drinks. The whole space inside is so cool and I am so glad we came. Be warned about the large okinomiyaki though, between 2 of us we weren't even able to finish it (and gyoza's). I like that you can pick your vegetables and that it caters to basically everyone. The owner was so incredibly sweet and she's going a mile a minute to do everything herself.

Best vegetarian okonomiyaki in Japan - Edit
Okay I was prepared to give this place a one star due to how long the wait is. I got there at 6 pm, 13th in line (this place is INSANELY popular, be there early) and I couldn't get into the restaurant till 9. You get a ticket with a QR code that updates you so you can just take a stroll around shinsaibashi/namba while you wait. But after I got in all my frustrations disappeared. It's just 1 person running the whole tiny restaurant, she's doing absolutely everything. Giving out line tickets (the ipad was broken so she had to do it herself), taking orders, cooking, serving, putting away/cleaning used dishes. She was so kind and sweet too it was a great place. But I wouldn't give it a good rating just because of that, the food itself was insanely good and decently sized portions for a good price. There's nothing better in Osaka.

3-hour wait - wouldn’t repeat - Edit
Got here at 6:05 pm and was 11th in line. At least there is a digital queue so you can go elsewhere while you wait. I hadn’t expected needing to wait until 9 pm for my seat though. The place is adorable and completely run by a young girl (ordering, cooking, cleaning). She’s so sweet and dedicated to her craft! The food was yummy and I’m glad I tried this once, but I wouldn’t repeat it given the wait.

Best meal in Japan so far - Edit
We came here in search of okonomiyaki and weren't disappointed. We arrived early (before 6pm) to a queue but quickly got our number to wait (number 10) and access to the app to track progress whilst we explored the local area.
Read moreWe sat down to eat just before 9pm and feasted on vegan gyozas before having our okonomiyakis. We were able to choose five vegetables to add and added the vegan cheese option (highly recommended). We also took the drink option too (¥180 for each drink).

A must try when you visit Osaka.

Must visit in Osaka - Edit
We came around 9 PM and waited about 1.5 hours. There's a hot water machine and some tea bags at the top of the stairs, so you can have some tea while you wait in the queue. There was an iPad for taking a number but it was out of order. The place is extremely cute. It's clear that the owner put a lot of love and care into it. We ordered okonomiyaki with vegan cheese (you can pick 5 toppings) and vegan gyozas. The owner also brought us some vegan mayo. Everything was super tasty. Medium portion was huge. Don't even think of ordering the large portion if you're not sharing.

Cons: Longue attente , 1 seul staff
