Thank the lord for ÖUR! - Edit
Stockholm has been in desperate need of what ÖUR now brings. Excellent quality vegan food based on North Swedish food traditions, in the middle of the city. My expectations were high but ÖUR exceeded them with a wide margin. FANTASTIC VEGAN RESTAURANT

Unbelievably Delicious and Different - Edit
We so enjoyed our meals there. We went twice during our trip. The Mushroom Pie is a must. It is so beautiful that you really don’t want to eat it! The stairs getting to it are a bit daunting but take it slow and you will be glad you did.

ÖUR is a Thril! - Edit
My wife and I were in Stockholm for a few days o either side of nine days in Visby, Gotland.
Read moreMy wife found ÖUR on Happy Cow and said ‘This is were we’re going for dinner!’.
Wow, are we glad we did.
We were educated that this is veganized Northern Swedish cuisine so the flavors are delightfully different.
We started with the mushroom tart which was so beautiful we didn’t want to eat it.
Our other starter was a small blanched stuffed cabbage rolls.
Then it was on to the stew with veggies and mashed potatoes and an excellent burger served with potato wedges dusted with herbs and a custom mayo for dipping.
We were so full we couldn’t order dessert.
We talked about the mushroom tart all week in Visby (where good vegan food can be a challenge) and said we’d go back and each order out own.
So, we did!
Two more dishes rounded out our meal including the potato dumplings.
Well, we did it again and had no room for dessert but we did have the amazing coffee which is not to be missed if you appreciate great coffee.
Beautifully prepared and presented specialities, a hip setting, and super friendly informative staff.
Pros: One-of-a-kind cuisine. , Delicious!!!, Hip and friendly.

The best food I’ve eaten this year - Edit
I had the “venison” stew (“viltgryta”) and it was honestly the best thing I’ve eaten all year. I literally cannot recommend it enough.
Read moreNone of the main dishes are however gluten-free, so I had to write to them beforehand so they had time to make a dish gluten-free especially for me. They were super kind and accommodating about it though!

Fabulous - Edit
We had a beautiful meal here. Loved the cute space and the friendly staff. Very welcoming. The food was brilliant - everything was explained and it was perfect to have a chance to try clever vegan Swedish inspired dishes while on holiday. Everything was great quality right down to the kombucha. It’s not cheap but absolutely worth it and no more than you’d pay for this kind of meal in other capital cities. Leave room for desert! We went early evening and got a table but it was busy by the time we left so you might want to book if you don’t want to eat early.

Öur - Edit
⭐️Wonderful⭐️ restaurant where you can try northern Swedish food. Very unusual flavors for me, but I loved them! My favorite was probably the bean appetizer. Grandma’s pancakes were so hearty I was full for hours. I don’t even know how to describe them, but the inside tasted like lasagna. The pastry on the outside was outstanding paired with the green sauce. Super cute decor. Nice staff.

OMG, what a gem!!! - Edit
Loved everything about this place. Hidden in the basement, lovely decor, amazing food and incredibly kind staff. I was alone and the waitress came to see me regularly to check up on me and have a chat. Absolutely do not miss this place! It’s only been open for a couple of months, I suspect that soon it will be very busy, so make a reservation or come in early.

This restaurant is a real gem. It's a great concept, very cosy atmosphere in a forest-themed decorated basement with lots of love for detail. Food presentation was visually stimulating and felt special and, most importantly, the food was delicious. Friendly team. Overall amazing and very enjoyable dining experience.

Lovely - Edit
High-end restaurant with great food. Love that they veganize traditional dishes from Sami or Norrländsk food culture. Interiors are themed like a Northern forest, beautifully executed. Staff was friendly and service-minded. Prices reflected the excellent quality of the food. Will 100% go back and tell everyone I know about this place!

You have to go down to reach culinary heights. - Edit
Hidden beneath a completely different restaurant, small signs led us further and further down until we found ourselves in a beautifully Nordic-style decorated basement. We were warmly welcomed, took a seat, and ordered what was probably the best vegan food of our trip to Sweden. Finally, some truly new interpretations and flavors!

100% hidden gem - Edit
Some of the most amazing vegan food you'll find in Sweden and super friendly staff that patiently explains every dish.
Read moreAlthough being right in the old town, it's actually quite hidden, tucked away in the cellar of Bacchi Syre. With relaxing and modern atmosphere, this new charming place offers vegan takes on traditional northern-Swedish/Sami dishes.
I went there three times, no less, during my few days in Stockholm and all the dishes I've tried were creative, interesting and above all delicious. Not cheap, but not too expensive either for Stockholm and for the high quality of the ingredients. It's definitely worth it.
The dishes I've tried:
Trundon - refreshing small wraps with skagenröra and some fancy seaweed caviar and beluga lentils on top. Awesome starter with flavors of the sea. Very much recommended.
Tjakka - kind of a pâte made of gray peas, a quite rare ingredient nowadays. Never tried it before, absolutely delightful! I just wish there was a bit more...
Kebabnekaise - Nordic kebab of very much well done smoked and salted seitan with oat fraîche. Pretty classic. Recommended!
Pitemal - amazing dumplings with root vegetables, tempeh, berries. Terrific flavors combination and very filling.
Ninni's - something between pancakes and a lasagna. Quite simple dish, comfort food.
Trollstubbe - chocolate madness with hazelnut cream and, surprisingly, tempeh. So rich! Leave some room for it...
Pros: Cutest staff, Décor and ambience, Delicious, healthy, authentic food

This is perfection - Edit
We went here because they serve food from the North of Sweden but vegan so we got to try what we heard about. What can I say.. We have never eaten so well. The place is cozy and well designed, stylish but cozy while being unobtrusive. The staff is super friendly and helpful, speaking Swedish and English. The menu is provided in both language. The portion sizes as well as prices are reasonable so that you can actually enjoy a 3 course meal. And the taste.. I have no words! We had the Trundön and Punajuuri for starters, the Kebabnekaise and Pitemål for main course, and the Manna-Magi and Kubb for desert, accompanied by Cloudberry Kombucha and the Vittjåkk mocktail.

One of the best in Stockholm. - Edit
An impressive modern and vegan take on northern Swedish cuisine. They have a small and focused menu, where every item has its place. I had "palt" as the main dish, a deconstructed potato dumpling with crispy, smokey tempeh, topped with butter and lingon berries. The tempeh had a crispy yet chewy texture, which fit as a perfect pork substitute without trying to be pork. It was honestly as good as - if not better than - the real thing. Both their mains and desserts were playful with loads of different flavors and textures. Even their tea selection is amazing, and continues the Nordic flavors.
Read moreBeing located in Gamla Stan and advertising northern Swedish cuisine, I was expecting a tourist trap but was gladly disproved.
Pros: Vegan without feeling "vegan"., Passionate and friendly chef., Authentic.
Cons: The rotating space heater.
