Nice place - Edit
We tried the vegan soft serve icecream, it was good, it is self-serve so you need to be a bit careful with the machine not to make a mess.
Read moreWe also tried the grilled cheese sandwich, it was good, it took some time to heat up. It would have been nice with some more tofu in it.

really nice - Edit
the food is really good ; the staff is nice ; nice place
Read morewe had the korean sandwich and it was reaally good!!
the menu is super short (especially on the savory side, see pictures) but like i said it’s real good
just note that the sandwich cooker takes 7 minutes and that it can only make 2 at the time, so if the place is crowded, your food will take a looonng time to arrive (we were the only one in there so no problem for us)
the dessert was good too! and the iced coffee too

Fresh air in the narrow streets of Old Town Stockholm - Edit
Visited July 15th, 2025. First heard of it here on HappyCow.
Read moreStopped by on a tuesday afternoon for a light meal.
Had read great reviews so far and since it's quite new in this location, I wanted to check it out.
Seemed pretty modest to me, but I love the climate-conscious initiative behind this place.
Went for the soup of the day. It tasted house-made and I enjoyed it, however 100 sek felt a little bit pricey.
Happy to have another vegan place in Old Town and I'll definitely be back to try some more later on.

We had the lunch of the day -a filling and tasty beluga lentil stew with sourdough bread. Basic, affordable, great.

Gott och mysigt! - Edit
Härligt med nya veganställen! Vi besökte Syre för middag och beställde in bröd, mahammra, börek och potatis. Allt var supergott! Dyrt men gott!
Read moreDe har inget alkoholtillstånd än, så till maten blev det folköl.
Syre känns som ett vänligt, vettigt ställe och vi kommer gärna tillbaka för middag när man också kan dricka vin till maten.

Pretty good, but not my thing - Edit
Went for an evening meal with my partner and weren't quite sure what to expect. The evening menu is a selection of smaller meals, with suggestion of 2-3 per person. We got just four between two of us since we had plans to get treats elsewhere, and opted for two simpler ones (bread and potatoes) and two fancier ones (slider and cabbage packages). The food was all okay, but nothing exceptional, and seemed fairly expensive for the portion sizes. Also feel like the bread needed something with it, but there was another option for that. I guess maybe we didn't understand the cuisine or how the menu was supposed to work? There was also the language barrier, but they did have an English menu. It wasn't terrible, but not sure I'd go again for an evening meal. The draught alcohol free beer was pretty good though, and their lunch options might be simpler to understand. But if you are going for beer, they currently don't have a licence so can only serve up to 3.5% alcohol.

Cons: Fairly expensive for portion size, Somewhat confusing menu

Best vegan spot in Old Town - Edit
Bacchi Syre is the perfect vegan spot in Old Town Stockholm. A beautiful space with two restaurants, a cafe and a wide selection of plant based food that makes it easy to come back again and again. It is not just a place to eat but a vibrant hub for climate justice, vegan events and coworking where you meet like minded people and feel part of a growing community.

Great start with a promising future - Edit
This new vegan place in Old Town is starting out with a cafe serving sandwiches, soup, and some pastries. Later they will also have at least one restaurant in the same venue from what I've understood. I tried the Philly Mushroom Sub which was really good made with with delicious bread. I also had the chocolate chip cookie which was very tasty too. I will definitely go to try the other sandwiches too and I'm looking forward to the restaurant opening up.
