After seeing this on Happy Cow, we leisurely strolled over…. All dishes looked beautiful, but no table available 😥 Managed to book a table for the following day for a 6:30pm dinner, a bit early, but totally worth it! Owner was very accommodating and even prepared an additional starter, so that we could try two different dishes 👍🏼. All dishes were beautifully presented, delicious and the price very very reasonable! Also: shade & lovely breeze 🙂

Good (but few) vegan options - Edit
I finally managed to reserve a table at O Tonel and went there with my family last night. I told them that I'm vegan, so they had a vegan starter which was actually very good (with avocado, beetroot, corn...). Then I had the vegan tagliatelle as main dish, which were OK, and (although I told them two days in advance) there was no vegan dessert (they told me that it didn't arrive that day. All in all, a good experience! The staff was friendly.

Fantastic option for vegans in Tavira - Edit
If you book a day in advance and say you are vegan they will make sure you are accommodated, but there is also a dish on the menu that is vegan and if you ask about desserts they will get something for you. I had the green tagliatelle which was lovely and a caramel ice cream for dessert! Would definitely recommend, and a really good option for a group with omnis as well as veggies/vegans.

We made a reservation 24 hours in advance because we are vegan and they don’t have a vegan option on their menu and wanted to prepare. We came back the day after and had a great dinner. The beetroot spread and beat carpaccio were great and the main course and dessert were also full vegan, fresh and homemade and tasty. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
