My Lunch Break Go-To in Center City - Edit
The Naked Lunch salad bar is named after the (in)famous novel by William S. Burroughs, and by extension the famous obscenity trial involving the book. It stands for freedom, honesty, and the American way. And it's connected to Mom's Organic Market, which is a grocery store every vegan should probably visit at least once. As far as genuinely health promoting options in Center City, it's pretty hard to beat--whether you want to promote your own physical health or that of our environment and our economy. Not only will the food here give you a healthy glow, but the produce itself almost has a glow to it. I swear, this place has the most beautiful, dark, soft kale I’ve ever seen served, which contrasts beautifully with the vibrant and bright colours of toppings like red cabbage and bell peppers. The salads are expertly tossed, always balanced, and always delicious. And while the menu doesn't offer much variety beyond salads, soups du jour, fresh juices, and dense baked goods, it's also directly connected to the grocery store, as stated earlier, meaning you can grab all manner of other a la carte items with a meal here. Did I mention that the main seating area to eat here is up above the checkout at the store and gives you a birds’ eye view of all the grocery goings-on? Only other real downside I can think of is that it can get busy and there can be a wait if you are ever hear at the peak lunchtime hour.

Delicious fresh fast organic meal options, staff very pleasant, portions sizes are very pleasing and significant and for this quality of organic food the prices are reasonable low.

Flavorful and feel-good - Edit
Great selection of wholesome and flavorful options for a very reasonable price. I tried their sushi bowl and the apple orange muffin and both were excellent. The sushi bowl lacked greens for me (too much rice vs veggie) but flavor-wise I really enjoyed it. All of their cooked toppings (roasted potatoes, miso tofu, cauliflower, etc) were well seasoned.
Read moreThe muffin was lovely. Bursting with flavor and not too sweet. The pieces of apple in it were a nice touch.
Highly recommend a stop if you’re looking for tasty and wholesome vegan food in Philly.
Pros: Tasty, Inexpensive, Friendly service

Great food, heavy on rice - Edit
We really enjoyed the sushi miso bowl as well as the special bowl that day. Both were quite delicious, and staff was very friendly. However, there was more rice and less veggies than we would have wanted. This might be something you can ask and customize. Additionally, some of their bowls come with feta cheese, but you can request vegan cheese in its place.

Great vegan food - Edit
Great vegan food with nice staff and very well served, enough for two people eating well. Located inside the MOM organic market with simple seating area upstairs. Enough for two was $11.62 final price on “make your own bowl”.

Naked lunch, dressed up entrees - Edit
Love this spot! All the options can be veganized, but honestly I get the sushi bowl pretty much every time cause it’s so good. I’d take that over other kinds of sushi any day!

Excellent cafe - Edit
The food is super tasty, cheap, all organic and super healthy! I don’t know how they can do it. For $9.75 you get what is for most people 2 meals. My favorites are cauliflower steak which is the best I’ve ever had, and jammed yam - both amazing! Everything comes in compostable containers.
