Loved the buffet!

During the week at lunch they have the option for the buffet and I decided to try it. 100% vegetarian restaurant of Indian cuisine. There were about ten options. The dishes were good, tasty and strongly spiced. I had a good time. Water and bread and Indian bread included. Excellent value for money, definitely recommended!

The name signifies North and South Indian food…

But this restaurant does other regions well as well. After walking through the entire Little India and being touted at almost all restaurants except this and also this place is vegan friendly as well.

We started with Vegan Vada Pav - the quintessential Mumbai snack, made perfectly. Took us too streets of Mumbai in first bite. The Vada (Potato fritter/Ball) perfectly spiced and chickpea flour coated perfectly not too thin or thick. The Pav good and altogether mmmm mmmm.

The Vegan Rava Masala Dosa - very nicely done. Good crispy crepe (dosa) and Masala Potatoes and Inion filling good. The sambhar good and chutneys good.

The Vegan Gobi (Cauliflower) Manchurian - the Hakka Indian Style dish was plain. We expected spicy and crispy cauliflower bites and they were neither.

The Vegan Baigan Bhartha (Grilled Mashed Eggplant), was amazing. The tomatoes and onions mashed up with eggplant/aubergine and spiced so well. A bit in the spicy side but that’s how it should be. The Vegan Tandoori Roti, the whole wheat bread baked in the tandoor oven was very good. #Veganuary

Pros: So vegan friendly , All vegetarian

Clean, Tasty, Friendly!

Unlike most other Indian restaurants in the area, there was no touting at the front. Instead, one felt the peace and cleanliness inside.

The staff were friendly, courteous, and attentive. A shout out to Pankaj, our waiter.

The food tasted home cooked and fresh without being oily and too salty. Service was fast.

The entire menu listed vegan options.

10/10 on all levels

Pros: Clean, Tasty, Friendly

Cons: None

Very tasty Indian food

The location is quite convenient as it is located very near to KL Sentral and the public transport stations there.

The first few times I went there for dinner and ordered different dishes from the regular menu. All are tasty and the vegan stuff is clearly labeled in the menu.

But when I randomly went there for lunch one day, I found out they have an amazing lunch buffet, which also is priced very fairly.

I think the name in the menu is "bottomless lunch" or something similar.

You need to ask the waiters or preferrebly the boss himself, which of the options are vegan.

On some days all of it was vegan, but usually 1 of the curries would have cheese or ghee or something in it.

Usually the lunch buffet included around 4 different curries, some fresh Indian salad (tomato & cucumber slices, cabbage, carrot onion etc. no dressing), rice and chappati. Sometimes also something similar to Falafel or Koefte or some other special extra dish.

You can either choose 1 plate of buffet or the all you can eat version, which also includes as many fresh Chappati as you can fit into your stomach and even more.

I went there many many times over my around 8 weeks in KL and I enjoyed each one of my visits.

Fantastic vegetarian cuisine with warm and friendly service

One of the few restaurants that excels in both North and South Indian cuisine. You can enjoy a dosa together with a paneer butter masala, or even a gobi manchurian. Highly satisfying!

Indian Veg in Brickfield

Came here to try a few snacks. Samosa chaat was nice, and also the pani puri. The mixed pakodas was not as great. Came with onion and potato; not mixed but separate. Pricey for the snacks though. They had a (natural) vegan sweet which was tasty!

Pros: Vegan options , Good location , Friendly staff

Cons: Pricey for snacks

Veggie Indian Restaurant with lots of vegan options an buffet.

We went there for lunch time and had the buffet for 15 MYR. They stated that all the meals at the buffet were vegan and it also tasted and looked like that they do not use any milk or cream. The food tasted very good and was very spicy.

Vegans be cautious!

Ate here twice yesterday. The first time we ordered two curries (dal & chana masala), two roti and a basmati rice. Delicious. We went back for dinner and ordered two dosa (masala dosa) and a mushroom masala. Both times we specified with the waiter that we wanted vegan food, clarifying that meant no egg, no ghee, no butter, no paneer, no cheese, no yoghurt and no milk. The lunch food seemed like it was vegan, none of the curries looked curdled the way that dairy curries tend to look and didn't taste odd. At dinner the mushroom masala looked curdled and tasted like an Indian version of bolognese with a very distinct cheese flavour to it. It was goopy and sticky, as if they used cottage cheese or a yoghurt in the curry. Immediately after dinner my stomach felt like it was churning and we started farting instantly, like 3 farts a minute. Not good. Very disappointing after even seeing the waiter write in big capital letters on his ordering tablet to ' MAKE ALL DISHES VEGAN'. I also suspect the dosas were pan fried in ghee as they had that buttery flavour to them. Never trust an Indian restaurant. They'll tell you they know what vegan means then they'll use some sort of dairy anyway.

Pros: Vegan food was tasty, Cheap-ish

Cons: Highly probable they use dairy, even when you specify you are vegan

Great Indian Food in Brickfields

This restaurant is a great choice in Brickfields. They have a sign outside clearly stating in English that they have vegan options. The staff are very helpful and able to point out all the vegan dishes in the menu which many of them are. They have south and north Indian dishes. The dishes I had tasted fantastic and I couldn't believe how cheap it was when the bill came. There are lots of Indian restaurants in the Brickfields area and I would say that this one is the best.

Pros: Cheap!, Lots of vegan meals

Cons: Air-con is too cold

Nice Indian near KL Sentral

I came here after arriving at KL sentral, hungry for lunch after my flight and bus journey which was a long morning.

The first review I read mentioned a buffet so I was like "SOLD!"

There was no buffet that I could see, they seem to have a set menu on weekdays for lunch perhaps this is what the reviewer meant? I may be mistaken.

Regardless I ordered a veg jalfrezi, samosa and garlic naan. The waiter assured me all were vegan no problem. The samosa was excellent, the jalfrezi was pretty good and the naan was good, fresh and very big. The green sauce with the samosa I'm not sure was vegan, I've had similar sauce in other Indians and it was vegan. I didn't ask so it's pure conjecture.

I would definitely come back if I was going back to the airport via KL sentral and had some time.

Pros: Excellent food, Good portions

We went there for the Buffet at lunchtime and loved it! Real and traditional indian kitchen with a good amount of choices. We would come back if we got the time! And in the lunch time it is just 15RM! So cheap for the quality!!

Pros: almost completely vegan, cheap, real indian

I am there, don't see any buffet?! Shame, I have gone a la carte which I'm sure will be delicious. Probably better not to eat at a buffet in this heat I have to walk to KL sentral

Great spicy food

The food was delicious. Very spicy which is how I like it. Once someone had come over service was good. But a smile as I came in would have felt more encouraging. Nevertheless I would gladly go back.

Pros: Good vegan options. , Food had great flavours

Cons: Although busy staff could have smiled on arrival

Amazing food, beautiful restaurant, great service

Probably the best meal of my month in Malaysia. The food was flavored to perfection. The waiter was nice, and even came and asked if we'd like things sweeter or spicier etc so each dish was tailored to the individual. The dishes were balanced and every one delightful. I'd highly recommend the chili cheese dosa and the ras malai! We will be back!

Pros: Great tasting food, Well presented food, Spicy food (if desired)

Good food but crappy music

I went there for dinner but should have probably gone for lunch instead since I paid 15 myr for a Daal Tark and a plain naan. The food was really tasty but the portion could have been bigger.

The waiter really understood the concept of veganism and offered 10 dishes.

They are still renovating so it looks half finished but alright.

What ruined my experience was that they were playing this American autotune rnb with lyrics that went "I wanna f*ck you girl" the whole time.

Cons: Annoying music

Excellent All Vegetarian Indian Lunch Buffet

This informal location near Sentral Station in Brickfields has an excellent lunch buffet for RM 15. The dishes are delicious and the chapati is always just made. The staff are a very kind and helpful. Highly recommended! This is one of my favorite spots for lunch in KL. Renovations are underway—see their updated look with air conditioning.
