Easy to order vegan food

Not entirely vegan or vegetarian, but clearly marked and delicious vegan options. The picture of the loco moco depicts what looks like an egg, but it is vegan mayonnaise. It tastes great, and I would order it again.

We had the fried avocado, but I prefer raw avocado, so I would not order it again.

I usually do not even take two bites of pumpkin pie when offered, but the purple pumpkin tart was an excellent way to end the meal!

Pros: Free infused water, English menu

Back in love with Mr Famrer

Mister Farmer has several restaurants in Tokyo now. When they opened their first restaurant in Roppongi I tried it and loved it. In fact, I loved it so much that I took my family there for a Christmas dinner a while later. The Christmas dinner was a course menu. It was a big and expensive disappointment and we never went back to Mr Farmer again.

However, when we passed Mr Farmer's new restaurant in Hibiya we decided to give it a new chance. And am I glad we did! The menu has changed a lot since the first restaurant in Roppongi, with more emphasis on the vegan items (in fact more than half the menu is now vegan). We started with the fried avocado, which is very nice (don't forget to use the spicy dip).

The main meal was the taco bowl. It ticks all the boxes: it looks beautiful, it tastes great and it is nutritious. Thanks to the great variety in ingredients it is healthy, filling and energetic. This is an example of what a good vegan meal is like!

As a dessert we tried the walnut cake, which is tasty and strong. In fact, smaller eaters can make a lunch just out of that walnut cake.

From starter to dessert: everything was top quality, healthy and tasty. We're back in love with Mr Farmer!

Pros: excellent food, good location

Cons: not cheap, can be very busy / noisy

Great vegan options

I had the vegan loco moco and vegan fried "chicken". Both were delicious. The loco moco was big and filling, but wish it had more greens (Japanese food in general seems to lack in the vegetable quantity department and this girl needs her fiber). Fried chicken made with soy meat was amazing. Reminded me of popcorn chicken. Quite pricey, though.

Pros: Lots of vegan options from salads to burgers

Cons: Pricey

We ordered Taco Salads with deep fried “chickin”.
Both dishes were awesome ! We were so surprised to find great vegan food in Japan. This was our first meal of the trip and it gave our vacation a great start ! Thank you Mr. Farmer :)

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Vegan wine list, Deep fried “chickin”

Cons: Not completely vegan

Pricey, but good

Cute spot in a food court area. The space is nice and big so you don't have that feeling of being rushed to get in and out which often happens in other Tokyo spots.

The food is a bit expensive, burger was 1650, but it was very good and made with fresh ingredients. Even the lettuce was nice a crispy. Wish it was a bit more filling for the price though. But still it is probably the best burger we've had in a while.

They do offer some big bowls that look very good and much more satisfying.

They also have a pretty good looking desert menu!

Good quality

We tried the vegan burger with teryiaky sauce and avocado, it was good. The vegan fried chicken and the deep fried avocado and the vegan mango pudding as well. The restaurant is nice and so the service. It offers more vegan option than meat plates! It's located in the shopping center at B1 floor.

Pros: More vegan options than the others, Only vegan desserts, Cute location

Cons: A bit pricy

Actually very good

Right in central Tokyo this is the best place for vegan newcomers to the city. The menu is in English. Clean, open spaced and efficient service and tasty food. A Western take on Asian food.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Not cheap

Healthy Vegan Option Cafe 🌱

Read the Vegan Tokyo Guide on https://itravelforveganfood.com/vegan-tokyo-guide/

Mr Farmer is a chain in Tokyo which specializes in healthy food. It has restaurants in Shinjuku, Omote-sando, Hibiya and more.

It has a vegan menu with some western classics like burgers, wraps and salad bowls. Desserts include some vegan cakes. I tried the avocado teriyaki burger and berry smoothie (Dr beauty) in the Hibiya branch. Both taste good. The burger could use a bit more sauce though. It comes with a daily veggie side. The smoothie tastes fresh but can have a stronger berry flavor.

Overall the food is very nice, although a little bit pricey.

Pros: Clearly marked vegan options, Tastes good

Cons: Pricey, Raw onion in burger
