Beautiful Presentation, Mixed Flavors 🙂 - Edit
The presentations were really beautiful and the setting was lovely, but overall the food was pretty average. The pesto pasta was actually quite good, but the rest of the dishes didn’t stand out much.

The best vegan in Ubud - Edit
Had the best food here in Ubud. You can pick between raw and cooked food. Everything we ate was amazing. We gad the tacos, laksa and the raw lasagna I would strongly recommend the laksa is going here!

🌿 6 Visits in Plant-Based Paradise 🌿 - Edit
Moksa is hands-down my all-time favorite spot in Ubud – I’ve been 6 times, and every visit has been unforgettable! From the moment you step in, you’re surrounded by lush gardens, stunning décor, and a peaceful vibe. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming – by my second visit, they already knew me by name and greeted me like an old friend, making every meal feel personal and magical.
Read more✨ Breakfast & Morning Visits:
On my first visit, I started the day with a Gut Shot, a punch to the face in the best way, and the Salmon Benedict, with living bread, papaya salmon, swirled spinach, avocado, caramelized onion, spring salad, and coconut hollandaise – pure perfection. Another morning, I treated myself to the Avocado Omelet paired with a Ginger Mimosa, rich, creamy, and indulgent without feeling heavy. I also loved their Antioxidant Booster Tea, made with butterfly pea powder, fresh moringa, lemongrass, ginger, and a hint of nutmeg – a refreshing start to any magical breakfast.
🥗 Appetizers & Lunch Experiences:
On a workday visit, I spread my meal across the afternoon while editing videos. I started with the Super Immunity Booster, a fresh, energizing mix of orange, pineapple, mango, ginger, lemon juice, and mint. The Cheese Platter, served with living crackers, grapes, baby tomatoes, and organic greens, was so good I wanted ten to go! The Jack Tacos were a delightful small snack, bright and flavorful. On another day, the Triple Decker Sandwich with sweet potato fries stole the show – homemade coconut bread filled with lettuce, tomatoes, mushroom shawarma, avocado, and jack chik-un. Every bite was bursting with flavor.
🍛 Dinner & Sweet Endings:
Evening visits brought more delicious adventures. The Balinese Rijsttafel, with turmeric rice, kemangi curry, tempeh, daily lawar, spiced shredded oyster mushrooms, Sambal Matah calamari, and roasted jack belly, was an exotic feast bursting with flavor. I also tried the Tempeh Ribs – while not my personal favorite, the accompanying mashed sweet potatoes were heavenly. And of course, the Pisang Goreng, a crispy banana fritter with ice cream and natural chocolate sauce, was the perfect sweet ending.
💚 Why I Keep Coming Back:
Every visit to Moksa combines incredible plant-based cuisine, breathtaking gardens, and staff who genuinely care, making it a dining experience you won’t forget. I will keep coming back over and over again!
Pros: Incredible plant-based cuisine, Breathtaking location & atmosphere, Warm, attentive staff

Great Raw Food - Edit
Tried the pumpkin burrito, inside there was a raw cashew cheese with a very interesting consistency and a lovely taste.
Read moreThen I tried the Molsa sampler so I could get a bit of everything to taste, the lasagna, the pizza, mushroom soup and few more things..very simple but also fresh and colourful.
To finish I got the 3 cakes tasting, I loved the chocolate one but the other 2 I found too "gelly".
Overall was an amazing experience in a beautiful garden!
Pros: Great location in nature, Simple and fresh

Surrounded by nature - Edit
Moksa Ubud is located in a more remote area surrounded by beautiful green ricefields. It is iconic Ubud. I had a soup here which was good. The ginger tonic was very refreshing and hydrating especially on a hot day. There also seems to be an attached Moksa Dojo that provides yoga and martial arts classes, although I didn't try this.

Mostly amazing - Edit
I do love Moksa and I’ve tried several dishes, majority of the time it’s amazing but occasionally there’s just certain elements that need improvement (or it could just be a personal taste). It’s a whole experience to go to the restaurant, it’s a beautiful and peaceful environment. I love the low tables that overlook the permaculture garden…. but there’s also the main restaurant area for anyone who prefers chair seating.
Read moreThe food - I loved the super protein bowl with quinoa & tempeh (great solo meal), the tempeh BBQ ‘ribs’ are unique and tasty (but best as a sharing plate not a whole meal), love the sweet potato mash that comes with various dishes, the rice meals are all good, veggie burger has yummy ingredients inside but made with a moringa bun (I didn’t realise until after I ate it why the bun tasted odd to me) but the sweet potato fries that come with it are good. The jackfruit tacos are a nice flavour but quite messy to eat since they fell apart while eating. My cousin enjoyed the kimchi rice paper rolls (I don’t personally like kimchi so I didn’t try them) and the halloumi in the grilled halloumi salad is coconut based so I loved it but she didn’t (so that really depends on if you like coconut!). I’ve enjoyed all the drinks I’ve had, most recently the super immunity booster that’s very tropical and yum.
I recommend going as it’s a wonderful venue and just be selective with what you choose (the menu mentions what items are raw/heated/cooked which is helpful!)
Pros: diverse vegan menu , beautiful venue , great customer service

Really bad experience stomach cramps and throwing up - Edit
I can’t agree at all with the reviews below and i think this restaurant gets hyped for no reason. We got the tempeh ribs and the beetroot steak. For the ribs the tempeh doesn’t fit at all, it’s super weird and just cut up and marinated in the sauce, which seemed to be like a plum sauce or something.( Don’t know why not using seitan or other substitute for gf. )As well the potato mash was really bad don’t know how you can mess up potato mash tbf. With the steak the only thing I could taste was the pepper sauce which was really overpowering and the rice side was not good either. As well directly after leaving I got really bad stomach cramps never experienced something so bad and had to throw up immediately after being home. After the food was out I felt much better. Well my husband liked the blue cheese a lot tbh. That was the only thing though.

A Total Experience - Edit
Had a really late lunch here on my own today and loved it. The food was so fresh, beautifully plated, full of flavor. The road to the tiny village of Sayan, within Ubud, was crazy....the tiniest road I've ever seen. I asked my grab driver to wait for me and paid him to do so because, tho I may be wrong, I cant imagine a lot of drivers being thrilled to drive out there.
Read moreThe setting felt like I was way out in the country tho its only just outside the busiest streets in Ubud. Its really zen and peaceful.
I read several reviews and one complained the service wasn't attentive perhaps that's somewhat true...but they were very kind and hospitable. It wasn't always easy to get their attention but frankly, I loved that. I was focused on the food and was distracted taking care of things with my attention on my phone .
This place has the full Bali experience, a dojo with several martial arts, yoga etc.
I definitely recommend this place. You won't be dissappointed.

During our visit to Ubud, we couldn't resist checking out Moksa, as it came highly recommended by multiple people. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint!
Read moreWe had an incredible feast with a variety of dishes that left our taste buds in awe. The Balinese Rijsttafel provided an authentic culinary experience, while the Crispy Oyster Mushroom was a crispy delight with bursting flavors. The Cheese Platter Section offered delicious vegan cheese, and the Sushi Maki was perfectly rolled and full of freshness. The Incredible Curry Tofu was a delightful explosion of fragrant spices, and the Crispy Cauliflower was golden and irresistibly tasty.
The restaurant's diverse vegan menu and the quality of the dishes truly impressed us. The staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience.
If you're staying in Ubud, Moksa is a definite must-visit for all vegans and food enthusiasts alike. The food experience here is unparalleled, making it a true gem in Bali.

Side of cauliflower bites
Lemongrass spritzer
