Amazing vegan buffet - Edit
Excellent fresh and exciting buffet, changing seasonally I think, but when we went there was kale soup, vegan rye bread, 2 types of barely, roasted turnip, Chana masala, kale with rhubarb, salad and their own fermented vegetables.
Read moreA must see for any vegans in the area, the only non vegan thing was butter which they only brought out on request, one of the staff/cooks was also vegan and was very passionate about the food.
Their opening times change monthly so check the website.
For Iceland this was cheap considering what we got!

Lovely and healthy - Edit
It was a pleasant experience, the place and staff were lovely. I had an oat milk latte and the buffet, everything except for the butter was vegan. You have to enjoy healthy, from scratch food. My 19yo wasn’t the biggest fan but my favorites were the roasted vegetables, yellow lentils, and a curry chickpea type dish. The barley was also good, garden salad, the kale soup was pretty good. The breads were a little too rustic for my tastebuds but they were high quality ingredients. They also had fermented vegetables and a mashed green dish that I couldn’t identify but it was also pretty good. My traveling companion really enjoyed that one.

Pros: Healthy and home cooked, Almost entirely vegan, Beautiful location

Farm fresh vegan buffet - Edit
An amazing little spot. Today's spread included bread made with locally grown barley, salad with locally grown kale, lettuce, nasturtium flowers and leaves. A delicious nettle soup. A variety of dips and sides including fermented veggies, sauerkraut and more. The only non vegan items were mayo dip and butter.

Fresh, local, mostly vegan, and very tasty - Edit
I try to go here at least a few times every summer, I think it's one of the nicest lunch places in Iceland. Their lunch buffet is amazing - almost everything is made from scratch from their own produce, and aside from dairy butter and a few dressings, everything is normally vegan. Healthy but very delicious! It's also a cute place with a nice atmosphere and the service has always been friendly. Check their FB page for opening times.

Delicious vegan buffet - Edit
I loved visiting Móðir Jörð last August. It felt great to eat in front on the fields which the veggies and cereals offered in the buffet come from. For the lunch, you can choose between just soup of the day and (home-baked) bread, or (for a slightly higher price) the full buffet. I opted for the second, since I wanted to taste everything. Of all the food available, only few dishes were vegetarian, and the rest was fully vegan. The food was very fresh and delicious. Oh, you can refill your plate!

Closed early. Poor service. - Edit
We were excited to visit this place, look in the shop & grab a coffee. We arrived at 5:30pm as we’d been elsewhere in the day & wanted to catch this place open before it closed. When we arrived it had already closed even though the sign on the door clearly stated it was open until 6pm. Then a woman came into the shop from the inside & saw us waiting outside & then just started cleaning something on the counter, completely ignoring us. We waited for a bit but she carried on ignoring us. It wouldn’t have taken much for her to come out & explain they had closed early or maybe allowed us to look in the shop.

Cosy place - Edit
Only had a (very good) coffe, but the menu looked veganfriendly, and very good for vegetarians.
