The best mochi on the planet - Edit
The shop puts on an animated performance of the employees making mochi for onlookers. It attracts a huge crowd and seems gimmicky but it's quite the contrary; this is the best mochi I've ever had. And ironically, most onlookers just watch and don't even make a purchase. It's understandable since the mochi is pricey (1000 yen each), but it's undoubtedly worth it (we preferred the chocolate to the matcha mochi).

What a fun experience! We got to see the workers hand-making the mochi, which is all vegan and comes in two flavors — matcha and chocolate, both with a strawberry on top. We got one of each and devoured them — some of the best bites of our time in Japan!

Best Dessert on our trip! - Edit
This place is on the way up the hill to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. It’s super fun! They are making the mochi fresh in front of you! It’s a show they are putting on! The mochi was the best dessert we had all trip. We got it on the way to the temple and it was so good, we got it again on the way back down! There is conflicting info about hours on here and google. I totally forgot to ask them and confirm! If someone else sees this, can we try to confirm hours? I wasn’t sure if they were open at 10 or 12. This is super important when planning and for people traveling. The mochi was 6 stars if I could! I’m glad we ended up making it here. Fresh Mochi is WAAAAY better than the boxed stuff!! And it’s all Vegan!

Delicious vegan mochi - Edit
This place is great to try fresh handmade vegan mochi. When I went they had match and strawberry flavour. It was pricey but worth it because it’s so good. The staff have lots of energy and you can watch them making the mochi.

Our small mochi shop is located near Kyoto’s Kiyomizu Temple. The live traditional mochi pounding in front of you is a fresh and energetic experience. Our freshly made matcha mochi topped with a sweet strawberry is incredibly chewy and delicious. Just check our Google Map reviews to see for yourself. Everything is handmade, vegan, gluten-free, and 100% natural. The staff is energetic and kind. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to taste the real flavor of Kyoto!
