Has a vegan sandwich

There are very few vegan options on MIA airport, especially terminal J. The bulgur chickpea wrap isn't great (lettuce, chickpeas, bulgur, and tons of oil but not much flavor) but has calories which I appreciated. Also had a "vegan veggies" soup which wasn't awful (salty overcooked carrots, potato, and spinach) and I was grateful it was labeled vegan. Not a great meal but beat eating pretzels or fries or something and points for using the word vegan! UPDATE: the vegan spinach empanada was actually quite delicious although pretty oily. I definitely recommend those, and if you want a mix of healthy and delicious you can get a veggie sandwich from Subway in concourse h to go with the empanadas

Rotten wrap

I ordered the vegan bulgur chickpea wrap and got it to go. When I opened it I was so disappointed to see the lettuce was slimy and rotten. The chickpea filling was sour and the wrap was just soggy. I took it to go or I would have complained. Waste of $12.

Only viable option

Seems the bulgur/chickpea wrap is the only sandwich at airport that’s declared vegan (as far as I could tell). Staff offered the tomato mozzarella sandwich, showing once more that people are confused as to what vegan means. The newspaper stand had Sabra hummus with pretzels. Other than that, no vegan options

Pros: Only vegan sandwich in airport
