Serves meat, vegan options available. Café and farm shop offering local produce. Also has a vegetarian and vegan menu. Vegan afternoon tea available. Open Tue-Sat 08:00-17:00.
My friend took me to Meadow Farm for afternoon tea as a birthday treat. She rang ahead to ensure they could cater for vegans (myself) and vegetarian for her, and was advised this was no problem. On arrival we received a small portion of soup with a mini jacket potato and then separate afternoon tea boxes, one for each of us. A very nice member of staff pointed out each item in my box and explained that vegan cheese, butter and cream had been used. I think this is my first afternoon tea since becoming vegan and I was not disappointed. The sandwiches were fairly plain - salad and cheese - but the sweet treats were delicious. Scone with cream, jam and strawberries. Jammie dodger cheesecake. A cookie, brownie, shortbread and piece of fudge. Freshly baked bread and vegan butter. Tea and coffee was also offered - the dairy alternative milks were oat and coconut and the member of staff explained the cafe is nut free. The staff seemed very conscious of food allergies which was lovely, and checked that everything was ok with our food as well as requesting my feedback on the jammie dodger cheesecake as apparently I was the guinea pig for this (it was really tasty by the way). I also took a snap of their veggie menu so I could post it on Happy Cow. I would definitely go back here. The service was excellent, as was the food.
