High Quality, Strong Matcha Soft Serve Ice Cream - Edit
As someone who enjoyed green tea ice cream in her childhood, the absence of a vegan version was challenging until I ordered it from here.
Read moreIt's not loaded with sugar like typical American desserts are, and, at least for me, the matcha in this ice cream is very caffeinated: I ate this at 16:00 and couldn't fall asleep until 04:00. The matcha in this ice cream, and all of Matchaful's products, is ceremonial grade (higher quality than culinary grade matcha).
The price of one order of this is 10 USD, but that's because it's suitable for two people. A kind staff worker gave me half the portion for $5.
Pros: Ceremonial Grade, Strongly Caffeinated Matcha
Cons: Sleep may not come if you eat here after 16:00

Great for matcha lovers - Edit
Took me a bit to find this place before I realized it's inside Whole Foods.
Read moreSuper cute little cafe that serves great drinks and soft serve.
The matcha and black sesame soft serve was delicious. It was thick, creamy, and the perfect blend of bitterness and sweetness. I'm hoping they'll have houjicha soft serve the next time I visit.
Matcha latte was great. I love how creative they are with their drinks and flavors.
Little pricy but worth it in my opinion. Staff was very sweet as well.
Cons: Some items have honey

Not bad - Edit
The matcha is strong! ❤️ it seems like the matcha beverages were pretty reasonably priced given the apparent quality and quantity of the matcha used. The desserts on the other hand....I tried the matcha doughnut, which was fine but it was a bit too healthy for a doughnut. It was more like a loaf (sort of like a zucchini or pumpkin bread density) with a lightly sweet film of icing on top. If you like less sweet or healthier dessert options, you'll enjoy it, but I bought it because was really in a mood for a sugary treat. Some of the other desserts, like the cookies and brownies, look like they might be better. Might give those a go if I stop in again. Overall felt like 3/5 stars to me but I'll stick with 4/5 until I give another dessert option a shot.

Matcha tea place inside Whole Foods - Edit
This place sells matcha teas and vegan snacks on the ground floor of the Whole Foods Market at Hudson Yards. The teas come in paper cups, not ceramic cups--this is not for a tea ceremony. However, the teas are good, and there are places to sit both nearby and up a flight via the elevators. The pastries are small, but very hearty--in all, fine for a small pick-me-up. They also serve some other items, like vegan avocado yogurt, and pumpkin vegan soft serve during the warmer months. Most of the items here are vegan, though one of the drinks includes honey.
