Marktküche is a quaint hidden restaurant in Zürich with limited seating options. Reservations are probably a must. My partner and I decided to go here for our anniversary dinner. Overall it was a unique dining experience with specially prepared vegan food which you have probably never tasted before. The staff was very attentive, without being too intruding. We opted for the 6 course menu and the non alcoholic beverage combo. We were intrigued by several dishes. Some were very delicious, others didn't quite meet our expectations. There are several bonus in between courses including the electric daisy as a palate cleanser, which was fascinating.

We came in without high expectations or knowing exactly what to expect and left totally awestruck! The restaurant's unassuming setting belies the exquisite and creative cuisine served inside. Given a choice between four and eight courses, we went for six the middle ground and ended up having double that including the in-between courses. The dishes were beautifully constructed and were simply divine. Eating the electric daisy as a palate cleanser—a flower bud we'd never heard of before—was a fascinating experience we'd never forget.

Excellent restaurant, everything is just right here, from the exciting, lovingly prepared and served culinary delights to the well-thought-out wine pairing to the professional and charming service. The little surprises between courses are wonderful and also that the chef himself stops by the table and asks whether everything is as desired. I haven't eaten so well in a long time. Best vegan tasting menu in Zurich - Edit
Amazing tasting menu! Overall best vegan high end experience in Zurich. I had their 6 course menu and thought it was a reasonable amount of food, though getting all 8 courses would not have been too much (as I feared). There are 2-3 surprise mini courses, but these are just a bite or two. Everything was fresh and for the most part interesting. Dessert was a bit disappointing given how unoriginal and somewhat flavorless it was, but the rest of the dishes were a delight. I opted for the non-alcoholic beverage pairing and would not recommend it. You mostly get a lot of overly sweet bottled fruit juice and pay about 10 franks per glass. Sparkling water is also about 10 franks a bottle, which felt a bit excessive, even for switzerland. Service was friendly though quite slow (6 courses took about 3 hrs).

A piece of 3 cm long plastic in the food - Edit
The food was good and the staff was reasonably knowledgeable about the dishes, but when I get a piece of plastic in my food from som sort of wrapper - 3 cm long - then that is the memory I will always have in my mind. They gave a small discount - in my opinion, they should have given the meal for free.
