So many toppings and Vegan fries! - Edit
We loved this place and location, a quick walk from central station. The entire time we are there they kept coming out with more fresh food added to the buffet area. The falafel dishes (not salad bowls) offer free re-fills so you can keep eating until you are full. The fries were also made there but there is a different fry place next door with vegan mayo sauce too.

Went here twice on my trip to Amsterdam from the US. Got the falafel sandwich with fries and ketchup both times. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the staff were pretty rude the second time I was there. They insisted I had ordered something that I did not order (I think I would know if I said “spicy mayonnaise” instead of “ketchup”, but I digress). Overall it was pretty good.

So I have eat here lots of time usually for convenience when on the go as it is not the kind of place you go to sit and have a meal. More of a grab and go or grab a stool for a quick bite to eat!

Honestly the only thing that lets the place down is the attitude of the staff... pretty sure been the same people there every time I have been. They are just not too friendly and that is part of the experience when getting food, right?
Saying that I am sure I will return many more times but just sucks that the money is going to such grumpy and unfriendly people!

This is actually now vegan. The prices were great and the vegetables and sauces good and fresh, the staff weren’t that polite. The cashier rolled her eyes when I asked if you get to pick the vegetables yourself. The places was a bit dirty and full of birds, but you could just go anywhere else to eat. Update: I went there again, and the same cashier was being really rude again.

Read moreThe food was good and fairly cheap (you can keep adding toppings and sauce as you work through your pita!), but the two men working looked like they despised everyone there and did little more than grunt at you. I get it - you're serving a bunch of (most likely) drunk/high people late at night and people are not always respectful in those moments, but it would be nice to get some sort of small response when a customer attempts to be kind, or compliments you on the food. I felt like I was a nuisance just being there ordering. (But I'm sure those guys were frustrated/exhausted by the crowd.)
Also, it was fairly messy inside and out, with food and garbage on the floor. Granted it was midnight and busy, but still - just a heads up. Maybe it's better during the day? Good place for a tasty late-night meal, preferably after a few adult beverages to maintain your patience. Otherwise, I'd try elsewhere.

Ordered the falafel sandwich and the fries. The fries with the garlic sauce was delicious! Falafel was a bit too dry for me, and service here is okay. It’s a REALLY small shop, so beware of long lines and no good seating.

Entirely vegan place. If you're confused by the name or the website, it's changed it to Maoz Vegan (I went there in June 2019), and the staff confirmed that every single thing there was vegan indeed.
Read moreThe food is good not great, the staff wasn't too friendly. Here's a quick rundown of what I gathered:
1. You order at the register. If you want fries, you'll get them right away. You pay right away too.
2. You go to the guy at the food bar and tell him what you ordered. You'll receive a pita pocket with falafel (unless you ordered sth else).
3. You fill it with anything from the food bar at your own speed, there were lots of people who came back too if they wanted more. Their sauces/condiments are also available if you want more of anything. You get them yourself.
The food (that's supposed to be) is very hot. Their pita sauces are really nice; I tried the coriander and it had so much flavor. Quick heads up, the olives have pits in them. The fries come with a wooden pick so you don't need to get your hands dirty.
The really cool thing is that everything is packed so nicely that you can choose on a whim whether you'll sit down to eat or get going right away.
Service wasn't great. The food bar guy seemed pissed and apathetic, the girl taking my order was much nicer, but still you're expected to just know how their system works (I didn't, so I hope this helps).
All in all I'd go there again if in need of something to eat real quick. If I want a nice, sit-down meal (or anything with ambience), I'd go elsewhere.

I loved the shoarma, I think they use marinated oyster mushrooms? I also got eggplant in it. The garlic sauce is amazing. My boyfriend loved the falafel one too. The chips aren't great though. But good sauce.

Each night heading back from the bar being hungry, it was open late and there when we needed it. We never had the falafel, but the fries were good and always good to have vegan mayo or spicy mayo with it. A good alternative to the snack bars in the red light district.

Falafel was ok and you can fill with as much salad as you want and compared to other places in Amsterdam cheap, but everything was prepared from the staff without gloves and overall the place wasn't clean. Then we went a second time for fries, and it seemed like the fries were left for hours and refried again!? We could barely eat them, very low quality.
