Refreshing curries

This is our second time here. First was eating in, the second as a takeout. Both times have been great.

Southern Indian restaurants are pretty rare in Kent, so always good to see one in town, particularly one with lots of clearly labelled vegan options. And makes a change to the onion base type curries usually found elsewhere.

The masala dosas are great, as are the various vegan dishes. As others have said, the korma is a little spicy (again fine by me, but the wife found it a bit much!). We also had mocktails when we ate in which were full of flavour too.

Provides fairly good value and would love to return.

Fresh, tasty curry!

Mallus has a varied menu with a range of clearly labelled vegan options. They offer their food for eat in or takeaway. We went for a takeaway and I got Vegan Vegetable Korma with Coconut Rice and my wife got the Vegan Vegetable Biryani. When I went to pick up the food the restaurant was busy and I got a friendly welcome. The server confirmed with me that the curries I’d picked were vegan and they were also clearly labelled on the pots (we ordered alongside non-vegan family).

The korma was really good! It was fragrant, flavourful and fresh. I was pleased to see that it wasn’t oily but tasted very fresh. It also went really well with the Coconut Rice, which had a pleasing flavour and texture. Note that the Korma was a bit spicy (I would say medium), which was fine for me but is good to know as korma is usually mild! My wife loved her Vegetable Biryani too!

The prices were also very reasonable - my korma plus rice came to just under £11 and my wife’s biryani was the same!

Pros: Tasty and fresh food, Good value for money, Clearly labelled vegan options
