Fresh tasty food - Edit
This was a great find. Staff were super helpful explaining the menu & plenty of vegan options. We both went for the vegan platter so we could try a bit of everything. They gave me an extra bowl of rice with mine as I couldn’t have the injera.
Read moreAll the dishes tasted fresh & flavourful. Clearly a popular spot as the place was full on a Tuesday evening in September. Would recommend to any other vegans visiting the city.

The food was very nice, and rich in flavour. Vegan options were also clearly marked and there is also a vegetarian section in the menu. The atmosphere was also good, and the restaurant itself is located on a very nice, rustic, old-looking street with lots of nice shops (including a vegan patisserie). Also, I brought my omnivorous family, and somehow we all got the same item (which was vegan). Staff was also very friendly. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was so good! Very nice mother & son duo who cook and serve. Great place to eat at, would highly recommend for all future trips. Plenty of clearly marked vegan options as well.

Nourriture très savoureuse, avec des ingrédients hyper simples. Le personnel nous a expliqué ce que c'était chaque chose et comment manger de la façon traditionnelle, en prenant la nourriture avec la galette de pois chiche. Super sympa!

Really delicious food, friendly service and nice atmosphere. After struggling to find vegetarian options around Tours we were very happy to locate Makeda, which had a wealth of (mostly vegan) options. We had two vegetarian “sampling” platters with injera, which included 2 lentil dishes and a zucchini dish. They also served a really nice local wine. The service was very friendly and the chef even came around with more injera when she noticed my partner had finished his. Finally, an added plus: The restaurant is located on a popular dining street with outdoor seating which makes for great people-watching.
