Cheap and tasty in Prague - Edit
The food is Chinese style mostly. There are many options, so it is a good idea to ask for info if you are not sure. I didn't do this and picked things I didn't know what they were (so good to have lunch in a vegan place! :P) but everything was taaaasty.
Read moreIt is incredibly cheap, payed around 180 CZK for over 600g of tasty food. This is a self-service restaurant: you put as much food as you want and pay for the weight. One of the staff members spoke english and was very helpful, so we had no problem with language at all. Place is easy to find.
Pros: Inexpensive, Excellent food, Friendly staff
Cons: Food could have descriptions

Good, filling food. - Edit
I'm currently in Prague with The Husband. As is our way, we've made finding good vegan food our top priority.
Read moreWe were pretty happy browsing the menu of Loving Hut - loads of fake meats (which we happen to be fond of, though I know it's not for everyone) served in a variety of styles.
We shared a plate of wontons between us. I had "Sweet Delight" which is some sort of fake meat (I think it's seitan-based, but I could be wrong) served with pineapple and vegetables in an orange sauce with a generous helping of rice. The Husband had breaded soya(/seitan?) steaks with the lightest, fluffiest mashed potato I've ever sampled and a big leafy salad on the side. We were both very happy with our meals, though I think next time I'll try something a little more savoury.
We shared a huge slice of cake for dessert. It was a chocolate crumb cake topped with light strawberry mousse and it really stole the show. Really, really good.
Service was quick and the portions were very generous. We found the prices to be fairly good considering it's an all-vegan establishment. It's not the most elegant food out there but it's extremely satisfying. We'll be back for more.
Pros: Generous portions, Loads of variety, Delicious cake

Deserving of your custom - Edit
Perhaps Monday nights are the nights to stay in for the Prague locals or maybe they just have not heard about this place yet. This Loving Hut is warm and welcoming, with very pleasant, English-speaking staff and a very long and delicious-sounding menu.
Read moreThe food is not cheap, but my main meal was generous and the ingredients were clearly fresh. Best of all, the food was not overly oily. The cake was not very exciting, but Asian restaurants are not meant to be serving up that sort of dessert anyway, and I felt lucky by simply having it on offer.
There are now five Loving Huts in Prague, and I wish them all the very best. Even those who are not inspired by the Supreme Master, who is the reason for this chain, must pay respect to someone who is providing nutritious and delicious vegan food all over the world.
Thank you, Loving Hut!
Pros: Atmosphere, Large portions, Taste
Cons: Price

Head to the Hut - Edit
For a cheap, filling and super tasty feed head here if you have time in Prague. Not very central but worth the walk. You could get a Metro to Florenc and walk. Lots of seating, great oriental type food and refreshing drinks in a modern well laid out environment.

Delicious and affordable - Edit
I was in Prague on tour and had just chosen to go vegan. Our tour manager was absolutely stricken because all the catering riders had been sent out previously when I was still an omnivore. So I decided to make it may daily adventure to discover vegan places where I could have a decent lunch. In Prague I was richly rewarded. Not far from the Roxy Club where we had our concert was the Loving Hut Restaurant and I was surprised that a "meat and dumpling" city like Prague offered so many vegan options. I off course had the mock duck to sink my ex-carnivore teeth in and a mushroom soup as a starter. It was delicious. I decided to take back some fresh summer rolls back for breakfast the next day on the nightliner. Cool. Since my command of the czech language is virtually nonexistant I was happy that everyone there spoke English.

Best Loving Hut in Prague - Edit
Always delicious and never disappointing. My favourite Loving Hut it Prague. My partner, who tried Loving Hut in Madrid, prefers this one as well. Been there many times and never got anything on my plate that would be non-fresh, bland or leave my stomach half empty. Mostly Asian dishes are served. The burger, dark veg meat with rice noodles and sesame, veg seafood with pineapple, tofu wrapped in seaweed with curry sauce are highlights of the menu for me. When you go there, sit at the back, that part of the restaurant is much nicer and you won't be "studied" by unruly passers-by ;-)

Larger than other locations but not as good - Edit
This location is in the center of Prague and easy to reach from the yellow metro line. The inside is very modern and clean. Unlike the other Ching Hai restaurants, this one will not allow you to order off of the menu during lunch; you must use the self-serve buffet. The choices were very limited and several were empty. The faux beef dish was extremely salty.
Read moreEven though it was well past 1pm, there was a very long line of young people so most of the tables were filled. The staff were helpful and spoke English.
We recommend the Londynska location even though it is not in the town center.
Pros: no smoking, vegan
Cons: buffet only at lunch, not very tasty, very crowded

Had lunch in LH and went home satisfied :) The dishes were fresh, delicious and filling. Self service means you can choose your favourites and eat a lot :D The place was immaculate, staff friendly and english-speaking.

In love! - Edit
An amazing selection, mostly Asian but some Western style dishes too, and amazing food! I wish I lived near a Loving Hut!

Heavy on the meat subs - Edit
I popped my Loving Hut cherry in Brighton this summer and on a recent trip to Prague I couldn't resist going back. It's located approximately a 10 minute walk from the Astronomical Clock area.
Read moreIt was really busy at lunchtime when we arrived, but there are plenty of tables and because it also does takeaway boxes, it didn't end up too crowded.
The food is pay by weight, alternatively you can order set dishes from the board. The one thing I don't like about the Loving Huts is their over-reliance on meat substitutes. My food was good but my meat-eating other half had to finish my meat-sub patty because it was just *too* meaty and heavy. Each to their own :)
Probably the best thing was the selection of vegan puddings. They had banana chocolate cake and some sort of vanilla sponge with soya cream. I didn't feel left out in a city where meat is practically a way of life!
Overall, I like Loving Huts, and they're usually in cities where it's hard to find other vegan restaurants, but I couldn't eat here every day.
Pros: Well known chain, 100% vegan, English-speaking staff
Cons: Heavy meat subs, A little expensive

Nice variety - Edit
The restaurant had a large variety of vegan choices. Most were Asian but there were some other ethinic choices. The atmosphere was clean and boring. We had a waiter who spoke some English. The menu was in English, which was helpful. The food wasn't outstanding but good enough. We ate here twice. One night I had an Asian dish, which was pretty boring. I had to add losts of soy sauce. The second night I had the "schnitzel," which was pretty tasty. So I think the meals were hit and miss. We had tasty tofu appetizer. It was open late (later than other vegan restaurants in the area), so that was good. It was conveniently located. All in all, it wasn't the most fantastic place but it was good enough.

You can always rely on LH for good food. - Edit
I had a horrible dining experience in Prague, so much so that I gave up on the veggie restaurants and opted to eat fries and salads at random other places. I later found Loving Hut and knew that I would have a decent meal. Generally I go for the western stuff on the menu, but this time I decided to try the Pho. The Pho was really good; it was a huge soup with lots of rice noodles and veggie meats. I also decided to order some mashed potatoes (in case the Pho wasn't good) and thought they were pretty tasty too. Overall LH has never failed me, be sure to check them out.

Wonderful! - Edit
When staying in Prague, I ate here almost every day (twice in one day!). The food was delicious Asian style fair. It was not traditional Buddhist, because dishes did include leeks and onion, but everything on the menu was vegan and well prepared. My meat eater travel companion loved this place as well and we were both thankful to be staying so close to it.

Great vegan option - Edit
Went here for lunch last week and hadn't booked. We managed to get a table but some others behind us had to wait or were turned away because it was too busy - great news for getting them to open a second branch! After 1pm it quietened down a lot so presume it was work day lunch rush. We'd been to the San Francisco branch before so knew what to expect - this branch is actually better though as you haven't got the Supreme Master strange stuff blaring out of the TV (for those who don't know the Supreme Master is an Asian woman promoting veggie lifestyles across the world, however, her message is, at best, poorly delivered and it does appear she wants to gather lots of followers in some strange mock-religion type style. She promotes vegan lifestyle (fine) but doesn't back up with good scientific knowledge - and then flies around the world spreading her message, hardly good for the environment. Anyway have a look at some of the "claims" she makes in the literature around the restaurant whilst you're waiting for your food and judge for yourself!!)
Read moreAnyway enough of that - the food is great, hot, large portions (we only had a main each as it was lunch) but wouldn't say overly healthy as it was mock meat and white rice or white noodles. With a Diet Coke! No complaints from me but wasn't balanced with many vegetables and would have preferred wholegrains for the carbs. So treat it as a vegan treat and yummy if you miss crispy duck from your carnivore days. Very reasonable prices and great atmosphere in there - highly recomended for lunch, and there are some tables outside. Service charge is included on the bill (i think it was 10%). Bit of a walk from the old town square but worth finding for vegans as you can have everything on the menu - vary rare indeed!
Pros: large portions, cheap, great meat substitutes
Cons: dubious religious connotations, bit of a walk from centre, prob need to book a table

Nice restaurant - Edit
I went here for dinner. There weren't many people inside. This is probably good if you want a quiet place. The menu is similar to the one of Veg restaurant in Prague. Only Asian food. If you don't like this kind of food don't go there. Vegetarian sushi is tasty and the faux meat is good. I thought it was a self-service kind of restaurant but at least during dinner it is not. Everything in the menu is vegan. They don't serve alcohol. Water is free and they don't accept tips. No smoke allowed inside.
