Healthy and affordable

Healthy and affordable

I went with three veg items with rice. Rice wasn't ready so got two different kinds of noodles instead. Condiments were available. Paired it with a soymilk that turned out to be warm.

I loved my plate and soymilk was nice.

Don't miss the Buddha Tooth relic temple and stupa upstairs.

I will be back.

Pros: Many options, Nice atmosphere, Healthy and tasty

Must visit, excellent vegetarian meal

Located in the basement of the Buddha tooth temple this is an excellent air conditioned place with sit down tables, lots of options and a very welcoming environment. They also have cakes biscuits in take away packaging. You can easily spend a lot of time here. The temple upstairs is magnificent and the restrooms are also good.

Pros: Rice and vegetable curry

Nice place which opens early

Had the kway chup on Saturdays easily one of the best I've had! Sundays laksa was the best! It was creamy and the right level of spice. Reasonable prices and huge portions! They have pastries too!
Pumpkin Kim bao was really good and unique.
Pizza is not vegan! Do check at counter.

Yummy food and reasonable prices

Vegetarian food court, most of the meals are vegan.
Not too many choices as they have a daily changing menu, so there are 3-4 options per day.
Additional small area with baked goods.
Very good prices.

Affordable good food

I ordered the Lakso soup and the popiah. The soup was great, but the popiah were too sweet for my taste and hard to eat. Nevertheless, the food is great value for its price!

Great variety of vegetarian food, not too busy on a Monday morning and very nutritious and cheap.

Take the lift down to basement level 1 from the right hand side of the temple entrance.

Pros: Delicious, Cheap, Healthy

tasty food, very reasonably priced

We got 3 large plates for $18 (Singapore dollars - about £10:50). There was a variety of choice and there were lots of local people there which suggests it’s good! There are not physical menus and so you just point to what you want - while things are not marked clearly vegan, they seemed not to use egg (and it is all vegetarian) so aside from the deserts, it mainly was vegan and people were helpful pointing out what wasn’t. The food was really tasty and it’s a really nice place to eat before visiting the temple!

Vegetarian food

Payment for food definitely needs improvement. Carrying food and drink to queue for payment after ordering the food is both impractical and stressful for the older people . This is true especially on first or fifteenth day of lunar month

Lovely vegetarian foodcourt at temple

It's a blessing to have a vegetarian dining place at temple accessible by public/office go-ers and alike. They have a caifan stall, noodle stall (under revamp as of Aug 2023), and western stall. They also sell drinks, desserts (really good!), bread, and other things like tea powder.

Pros: Lots of tasty options, Affordable for CBD area, Lovely vibes

Great variety of Cheap and good options.

Great variety, and they have 4 stalls: mix veg, chinese, western , drinks n dessert.

For mix veg you can select noodle and 3 dishes for $4. Great variety of options to choose from.

For Chinese they have a Menu every week with different dishes of the day. My fav is the laksa (Wed) and Char Siew (Tue n Sat) .

Western comes with salad, soup and main dish. You can ask for only the main dish since soup is not vegan and I think neither is the salad dressing. They have a menu that changes every two weeks.

Get there by 1pm to avoid disappointment from items being sold out.

Pros: Cheap and good food

Cons: Hard to tell what's vegan

Western dishes disappointment but the local ones are a hit!

Love the local dishes - tried the fish beehoon and the soup was deep with ginger, fish is super crispy! The free sambal chilli condiments has chunks of meat in there! Truffle spaghetti is average, pea soup is amazing!

Pros: Superbly affordable, Dishes change everyday, Fast service

Cons: Crowded most of the time, Little or expensive parking

Air-Conditioned Food Hall, Mostly with Dairy

Formerly Five Insights Hall 五观食堂, now renovated into an air-conditioned food hall known as Lian Xin 莲芯膳坊, located at the basement of Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. Menu changes daily and there is a suggested donation amount for each dish. There are several stalls serving allium-free vegetarian mixed rice, noodles, Western food, as well as drinks and desserts. Eggless according to the staff. Dairy is not clearly indicated in the menu, and unfortunately is included in many dishes especially Western dishes. Really hope they can switch to plant-based dairy or have vegan options to be more inclusive.

Will be good if they could label which items are dairy/ egg free.

Hope they could change western and daily special every quarterly.
