Bright and cheery vegan 🌱

This all vegan restaurant near McGill University is bright and cheery with friendly staff. We had delicious vegan pastries and yummy soy lattes. I took only one star off because the seating is mostly long tables. Ours was up against a wall making it a challenge to squeeze in among the many students working away on their laptops. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.

Pros: All vegan , Bright and open , Tasty pastries & coffee

Cons: Seating style

Nice discovery

Plenty of seating.
Nice service and not much of a wait for my order
Close to my hotel so will be back.
Banana chocolate bread. Tasty but a little dry.
Macadamia chai latte, nice spice profile and first time I've been able to order macadamia milk. Not usually found.

Good café

This is a good café with nice staff, unobtrusive music and several places, some of them with sockets to plug your laptop.

I sometimes go there to eat blueberry danish for breakfast with a chai latte and do some tasks on my computer before starting my day of work.

In addition to the danish, they also have chocolatines, croissants, and vegetable patties, from what I can remember.

Pros: Lots of places to sit down, and they have sockets, Good food and drinks, Unobtrusive music

Great quick breakfast

I loved their iced matcha latte. I thought it was unique that they had macadamia nut milk as an option too 🤗 Their chocolate chip cookie and pâté de legumes (savory filled patty) were delicious.

Apparently Sundays are their slow days so they didn’t have the blueberry danish available, but said they usually have it on other days.

Good pastries & matcha

I’ve never had a vegan danish before, so of course I had to try it! Did not disappoint! They do an excellent matcha also with macadamia or pistachio nut milk. Bright and airy cafe. Nice space for studying.

Cool Options

Leaves House provides interesting desserts in a strange, industrial setting. Leaves House is tucked into the lobby of a corporate building. First, the entrance is easy to miss with very little signage to flag your attention. Once inside, they have done an exemplary job transforming the space into a cool, relaxed cafe. Their options (savory and sweet) pop with interest. They push themselves to provide options like blueberry custard tarts and Indian lentil pockets. The blueberry custard tart was fantastic--the custard texture and taste balanced well with the sweetness, tang, and moisture of the blueberries. The lentil pocket was just as impressive, humming with indian spices. There were many other options I deliberated over. Leaves House provides everything you'd want in a cafe: fantastic desserts and a chill atmosphere.

Great vegan cafe!

I love this cute vegan cafe! Everyone I have brought (vegan & non-vegan) have loved it too. I never get tired of the lattes, vegepate, and the pastries (chocolate-raspberry scone, chocolate banana bread and more)!

Cute vibes & tasty treats

Such a cute little place! Love the fact that everything is vegan, and delicious. Lots of options for baked treats and even poke bowls. I ordered five items, and my favorite was the blueberry Danish. Nice music playing in the background, plenty of space to sit and do some work (many students around), quick service, convenient location. Extra thanks to my barista, Daniella, who was so friendly and accommodating to my excitement as I was ordering :-)

Awesome spot!

We came to have a little lunch. The tofu poke bowl and the mushroom rice paper wrap were surprisingly delicious! They also had a good selection of baked goods including croissants, quick breads, scones, cookies, etc. We got some to go to munch on for the rest of our trip. The chocolate berry scone and the matcha cookies were yummm!
Location is very central and convenient for tourists. The setting and the atmosphere is a bit cold though, maybe because we came over the weekend.

Pros: great food, baked goods selection, central location

Cons: atmosphere

Small Cafe in a Pinch

Leaves House is a small cafe near McGill that offers an entirely plant-based menu, down to the sweet and savory pastry options that they provide!

You have your usual suspects which include tea lattes and there are a variety of non-dairy milks to choose from, including macadamia and pistachio which makes it extra creamy. I opted for a Lavender Oat Milk Latte and two of their scones, which were the perfect snack. Everything was at a reasonable price as well.

As of May 2024, they weren't serving boba which was a shame since I came here wanting some, but I appreciate the other plant-based options offered anyway.

All vegan cafe

A little coffee shop surround by ample seating nestled in a McGill College building. Super friendly staff and a lot of vegan baked goods. I visited twice while in town. I didn’t try the coffee but tried a vegetable scone (sort of weird and dry), an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie (good but a little dry) and a croissant (okay but a little dry). Overall worth it if you have a reason to be in the area but not worth traveling to.

Pros: All vegan!, Nice selection of baked goods, Friendly staff

Cons: Baked goods are a little dry
