Nice and friendly

Vegetarian restaurants seem to be few and far between in this beautiful city, but we found this little restaurant using the app. To be honest we came here because it was the closest one that wasn't Indian and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly, especially considering the language gap and we all cleared our plates as the food was delicious. It may be considered pricey but the food was obviously fresh, and the app warned us in advance so we were not shocked by the price. I would come here again.

Pros: Good Food, Friendly Staff

Cons: None

Good food, mediocre service

My husband and I went here during a 12 hour layover. The couscous I had was quite good, very flavorful and filling! The service, however was mediocre at best. The staff acts as though your very presence is an inconvenience to them. If you're looking for a quick lunch near Norte Dame this might be a good spot for you, but expect pricey food and shoddy service.

Pros: Flavor, Location

Cons: Price, Poor Service

delicious food

The dish I had came with seitan strips, tofu, seitan croquetes, rice and a delicious fig and plum sauce. It was probably the best tasting seitan I've ever had.
The chocolate gateau was also very good.

tasty food, pricey

Attentive staff
Big serves
Fancy style restaurant and price reflects it (33€ for one main, one dessert, one glass of wine that's about $50AUD)

Pros: lots of vegan options, Attentive staff, extensive wine list

Cons: expensive

refurbished interior, same menu

Came here in 2015 and loved the quirkiness of the place and the food was gorgeous.
Found the refurbishment to have lost that quirk although still as busy.
Menu hasn't changed much if at all and although it has vegan options clearly marked one of the dishes which was marked vegan had honey in it and a couple of the vegetarian dishes contained Parmesan which isn't vegetarian.

Cons: staff not overly friendly

One of my best place

I love that place and it is very well located next to Notre-Dame church. I went there in June 2016 with my 18 years old daughter.
The place is pretty big for Paris ; it has a second floor for larger groups and nice restrooms.

Anecdote : I forgot my money and bank card and I realized that as I was about to pay (panic!)
The lady offered me kindly to leave my daughter there and get the money. Because, she was so nice to us during the course of the meal that I figure I could trust her with my daughter.
So while my daughter was offered internet and a drink I was running like crazy in subways and taxis to the other side of town to get my money.
I went back to Paris in December 2016 and I promised myself to go back this time with my colleague. What a disappointment; it was closed for renovation. Luckily, I found out with the Happy Cow Ap, so we didn't have to get there for nothing.
Nice place for a romantic dinner and to take a walk after by the Seine or take a Taxi-Bike drive to leave from there as we did.
Good sizes, choices and portions for the money.

Pros: Romantic, Notre-Dame, Seine

Disappointing

I've been lucky enough to eat at some fantastic veggie and vegan restaurants and this isn't one for my list I'm afraid. I found it quite bland and the atmosphere was pretty dull. The staff were courteous and attentive but we didn't see a smile at any point. I had a plate that mostly consisted of tofu in a variety of forms (smoked, fried, burger) and a mismatch of salad and cooked vegetables with a small bowl of raw cabbage in the middle topped with a minuscule amount of fig. There was also a small lump of brown rice and it just didn't gel together at all, it all tasted fresh but it was crying out for some seasoning and fresh herbs. We had 2 mains and a half carafe of house wine for 50 euros and were done and dusted in 40 minutes. Simply not the place to go if you want an atmospheric meal with outstanding veggie food and flavours.

A disappointing establishment...

I first went to the Grenier de Notre Dame back in 2004, and went numerous of times, every year. But lately, the place lost its charm, the food became a sad experience, and the service got ... bad.
I used to like their happiness and enthusiasm, which clearly vanished lately, as they take a solid advantage to be the only vegetarian restaurant (with seats) near Notre Dame. Overcrowded, often. But still, a sad, sad time there.
The menu must change, and as for the service, don't expect friendly staff. That's a very negative comment I am writing as for me this is a key ingredient of the food experience. I will come back the day I hear they are fabulous, like they once were. I know they can improve :-)

Pros: Healthy, Location, Options for different diets.

Cons: Boring food., Bored staff., Sad atmosphere.

renovation much needed

the place is going to be closed soon for renovation. I belueve menu should be reconsidered. many ingredients were not fresh, kitchen tried to hide that woth spices. undersalted - which is crucial for beans. portions were huge - interesting exception.

Pros: nice juice mix

Cons: out of most drinks on the menu, old ingredients, m

vegetarian delight in the shadow of Notre dame

Decided to try Le Grenier De Notre Dame as one the few vegetarian restaurants while in Paris. I have 4 more days left and I will be back. We made a reservation for 7 PM and were seated upstairs, which I believe I would have preferred. The menu has many options so it was hard to decide what to have. My partners starter was see lentil soup. It was delicious. My starter was the avocado and mango tartar. Amazing. Smile on our faces. For the main course we both had the vegetarian cassoulet. Filled with white bean, tofu, sextant in a herbed tomato sauce. This dish was good but not spectacular. We had no complaints about it except we felt the dish could have had a stronger flavor for the tomato sauce. For desert, my partner had chocolate mousse and I had apple tart with whipped cream. Both were good. As I mentioned previously, we will return.

Beautiful restaurant, good food

I like this restaurant. Not the finest vegan food but good enough, and the restaurant is beautiful and the atmosphere very enjoyable, you feel like in a typical and a bit chic parisian restaurant, but not posh. There is also a small but beautiful terrasse. A large variety of assiettes, many are vegan and gluten-free. Many fresh squizzed healthy juices. A bit pricey but it's an expensive and touristic area, so it's a safe choice.

Pros: Nice restaurant, good food, healthy, good portions

Cons: not very creative food

Popular vegetarian place

This restaurant offers a variety of items, but they end up similar. The components may taste fine, but they aren't put together to make a cohesive whole meal. As a result, the meal is rather uninteresting. The restaurant is popular, reservations are recommended, although we came early and were seated without one.

best in Paris

This place was such a brilliant first dinner that we returned the following night. The lentil soup is creamy and perfect. The male server downstairs was so friendly and helpful with questions, remembering us from the first night. Definite love for this place - such a hidden gem.

Excellent Vegan Dinner Near the Seine

This restaurant is a great choice when looking for a vegan or vegetarian meal near Notre Dame, the museums, etc. I had a tagine with cous cous, carrots, potatoes, chick peas, other veggies and a skewer of seitan. It was seasoned nicely and very filling - perfect after a day of walking around the city center. The menu is in French and English and clearly identifies the selections that are vegan.

Tip to find the restaurant: Rue de la Bucherie is a side street that is split in two with a small city square in the middle. On one side of the square you will find Rue de la Bucherie addresses #1 to #16. On the other side, you will find street address #18 (and up) where the restaurant is.

Pros: Tasty, good sized portion, Menu variety

Great food, reasonable prices, close to Notre Dam

Funky, small café on a side street just around the corner from one of the busiest tourist spots in Paris. They have about 6 tables inside and 4 or 5 outside. If the weather is nice you eat outside. Varied menu and juices. Quite good and reasonable value. Not super cheap, but in that neighbourhood nothing is.

Pros: good food, fast, friendly staff

Good lunch

Went here for lunch during a stay in Paris. Fairly priced 3 course meal (15,50) . Got two choices per course. Everything (except for 1 desert) on our menu was vegan. The total menu looked good - not extremely impressing, but good decent dishes.
The (vegan) apple pie was delicious!

Pros: Good lunch menu for fair price, Easy to reach

Nice Place!

Indoor and outdoor seating, very close to Notre Dam, on a quiet little street. I ate here twice, each with a group of people who were carnivores, vegans, and vegetarians -- and each time everyone was happy. I really liked the vegan cassoulet, and also the "le fernier" juice. Very friendly and helpful staff. Decent price.

Pros: Good food, Friendly staff

A perfect day in Paris

Le Grenier de Notre Dame is absolutely amazing. The service is wonderful, polite, efficient, and welcoming. My mother and I were seated quickly and enjoyed a fresh and delicious vegan meal within our one hour time limit for our group tour. This was the perfect addition to a beautiful day in Paris--especially for a wholefoods vegan who was needing a substantial healthy meal. I highly recommended this restaurant for any vegetarian or vegan traveling to Paris!

Pros: Healthy and delicious vegan options, Friendly service, Beautiful environment

Lovely place, amazing wine, okay food, insane pric

I heard about this place because it's been listed as one of the top vegetarian restaurants in the world.
But I don't like to have my impressions tainted by preconceptions so went in without assuming it would blow my mind.
The place itself is very nice, quite cramped but I don't mind that as it feels livelier than it otherwise might.
Staff are welcoming and accommodating so I only have praise for them!
The wine, though a little pricey, was fantastic. Finding vegetarian wine in France is difficult at the best of times so I'm happy to pay a premium, and here it is worth it.
I just wasn't impressed with the food though, my friends and I had a range which I sampled too so it wasn't just one lacklustre dish. There was nothing wrong with the food, it was all just a bit bland and uninspiring. If it had been half the cost I'd still have that criticism, but at the rates they were charging I felt especially hard done by.
There are many great veggie options around Paris. Don't buy the hype of this place.
It's fine but not for the money.

Pros: Range, Wine

Cons: Price, Lacking flavour, Price!!

Losing its appeal after multiple visits

The location of Le Grenier de Notre Dame can't be beat for tourists - it's a stones-throw from Notre Dame and Shakespeare and Co. - but for vegans it's really not the best place to go in town. The food isn't bad, but it's not inspired and definitely feels repetitive after multiple visits, even when ordering different meals. With three vegans in our family we've pretty much ordered every option on the menu and none of them have been outstanding. Palatable, but forgettable. My son does love their avocado-mango appetizer, but unless you're just stopping in for a quick snack it's not much of a meal. The prices are also eye-popping for how dull the food is. I got the couscous this past visit, and while it smelled heavenly the flavor was nearly non-existent. I don't know how they managed to make it smell so spicy and sweet yet have it taste like cardboard. The apple tart (the only vegan dessert), which we've had three times, seems to only get worse over time. The first time it tasted good, the second mediocre, and this last time I only had one bite because it tasted burnt and underdone simultaneously.

The staff is polite, but our waiter (who has served us 2 out of 3 times) always seems a little exasperated (not rude, just not happy). I don't know if it's our speaking (we're American but always do our best in French) or his having to climb those ridiculous stairs all day, but I do wish I didn't feel like I was inconveniencing the staff by simply ordering a meal. Maybe it's just his personality? Like I said, not rude but certainly not as pleasant as servers in other Parisian veg*an restaurants we've visited.

Pros: Nice atmosphere, Great location

Cons: Bland food, Expensive

Basic and a little over-priced

This restaurant has a nice, traditional French restaurant vibe that I enjoyed, and the staff was friendly. But I wasn't very much impressed with the food: it seemed to be very basic veg dishes. Vegan dishes are clearly labelled on the menu, which is good, but there didn't seem to be many choices for my vegan boyfriend.

Pros: nice environment, clean

Cons: boring food, overpriced

Beautiful fresh juices but expensive

This restaurant is the older vegetarian restaurant of Paris. And it seems to have remained in 1978... Main dishes are not bad and relatively well presented but they have not a crazy taste and remain relatively basic. Moreover, there are relatively few vegan options. However, what is excellent is their fresh juices! I love them and will return here only for them. They are huge and beautifully served, a savant mix of fruits and vegetables. Desserts are also good and the place is small but very nice and well located. However, the whole experience is a bit expensive for a not innovative food.

Pros: amazing fresh juices, organic, location, friendly staff, very nice place

Cons: expensive, basic and few vegan food

Boring and tasteless.

The vegan dish we had were boring. Not bad, just nothing we'd eat again. The apple pie was disgusting. Dry, tasteless, oily in some parts.. tasted like something they took from the freezer and heated in a microwave. I told the waiter about this, and he got offended and said "well it's vegan". Ok? I've had many vegan pies in my days and they can be tasty too. Remember this is a vegetarian restaurant, not vegan..
