One of the best meals I’ve had! - Edit
We had an excellent time! The food and service (Shoutout to Will!) was amazing. We had the escargot, the salmon rilletes, the mushroom paella and the Entremet aux Noisettes (choc cake dessert which was so good). We were blown away by everything! Our favorite savory was the salmon appetizer- it truly tasted like salmon and came with an egg that tasted like egg! We also had a chance to speak with the owner on our way out and he was very kind and friendly. He has several restaurants (can’t wait to go to the others!)

Came for a celebratory dinner with some friends and two small children. We all loved it. It's a bit fancy, portions are on the smaller side, but it felt really special. Sit upstairs if you can! The staff was great, kind to the kids, even though this is not a place we'd usually bring kids. Everything was so delicious and beautiful.

We came for brunch and tried the mushroom quiche, salmon caviar toast, and savory breakfast crepe. Every bite was heavenly. 🥰 I don’t know what traditional hollandaise tastes like but it was very good on the salmon caviar toast. Really impressive vegan salmon and the sourdough too was 👌👌👌. The quiche had so much flavor, it was easily the best we’ve ever had. Then the crepe absolutely stole the show. I will dream about it. I’m definitely coming back for the savory croissant sandwich and to try their dinner menu sometime.

Lots of choices and tasty food - Edit
Dedicated vegan restaurants for French or Spanish food are rare so I was delighted to come across La Basque and even more pleased to find that there were so many dishes to choose from. In fact if I had not been ravenous but spent more time perusing the menu, I might have ordered something else. I had the "escargot" (made with mushrooms) and the Jerusalem artichokes aka sunchokes, which were both tasty but there were many other dishes which sounded even better. If I visit NYC again, I think I'd definitely like to come here again and try some of them.

This is in my top 3 best vegan meals ever. The ambience, cocktails, service, and food were actually next level. If you’re reading this review, take it seriously. I saw the other reviews and was like okay, sounds good, but I didn’t realize how great it would be. The cheese plate is a must order. I felt like I was eating real cheese. I can’t wait to go back and order other things!

Bartender Jairo created some of the most stunning and inventive cocktails we have ever had, with a level of artistry that matched the beauty and depth of the dishes.
The internationally inspired vegan menu is nothing short of exquisite. The pâté selection was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, served with house-made bread that was both delicate and satisfying. For dessert, the hazelnut creation was breathtaking, both visually and flavor-wise, it was a perfect harmony of textures and tastes, with just the right touch of sweetness.
The cocktail list is just as refined, featuring seasonal ingredients and global influences. Much needed option for elevated Plantbased dining ! The ambiance, service, music, attention to every detail and food are all top notch. I took a non vegan(!!) friend for his birthday dinner and am glad we came. He was blown away and we both loved all the food! The salmon and chicken skewers were probably our favorites! HOW is that salmon not real salmon! What is that made of! The chicken was cooked to perfection, grilled with a slight crunch on the outside and juicy inside with a sauce that had a little heat - amazing. The escargot was ok our least favorite. The mushroom paella also delicious. And the special steak very good in texture and with the chimichurri sauce easily confused with the real deal! Only 2 desserts to chose from we opted for the chocolate nut bal which was perfection. We both drank and the bill with tip was close to $300 but worth it! Highly recommend!

Loved the duck confit salad! - Edit
The duck confit was delicious and felt like the “healthiest” and lightest dish we got from the menu. Everything was great overall, I’m just not used to such meat heavy dishes after all these years of being vegan. Still very cool to try. My favorite was the salmon pinxtos. I really wanted to try the Entremet aux Noisettes (hazelnut dessert) at the end, but opted for the Tarte au Citron, because I need something light and refreshing after such rich and heavy food.

I've tried all of Chef Guy's restaurants and I think this might be my least favorite. I got the paella-- it was okay. The cidre was not very tasty. The best part was the hazelnut dessert. But like all his other places, beautiful interior and delicious bread.

I'm still blown away by my meal here. My partner and I shared several dishes that were all so delicious. I'm happy there are delicious gluten-free options for my partner to enjoy. The staff is so attentive and the decor is beautiful. I can't wait to come back, I'm still dreaming of the crepe!
