Serves meat, vegan options available. Chic decor, named after the Armenian bread. Vegans could have aveluk (moutain sorrel) salad with garlic, onion, and walnuts; dolmas and sarmas; grilled vegetables; fresh fruit juices. NOTE: Reported that some labelled vegan dishes actually contain butter/honey, please ask staff to verify ingredients.

Fantastic Armenian Restaurant - Edit
My experience at Lavash was something different all together! The staff were so kind and helpful! At first they said that the baked pumpkin dish contained honey, but then they offered to cook a new batch just for me if I was willing to wait a bit longer. They then inquired what other sweeteners I could eat and served the dish with a small pot of sugar syrup from their bar, just to provide an as authentic experience of the dish as possible. We also had sallad, a delicious bread and great Armenian wine to the food. ✨

The hype is real - Edit
The staff are really friendly if not a little cheeky (in a good way) and the food is top notch. There is plenty of choice for vegetarians. Possibly not so much for vegans. But you won't go short on options and the staff are eager to help and please. The food was stunning, tasty and the bill was very reasonable too. They're in the Guinness Book of Records, by the way... Oh, and best to make a reservation to guarantee a table...... This place is popular for a reason
Read morePros: Choice of options, Quality of the food, Friendliness of the staff (exceptional)
Cons: You probably need to make a reservation

Great options for cold dishes - Edit
We had the walnut paste, hummus and veggie appetiser together with the assorted bread. All of the dishes were nicely done and served and also delicious. Especially the walnut paste and hummus with aubergine! Super option especially if you are travelling with non vegans. As all can have some thing nice. Staff was super friendly. Place can get really busy!

Typical armenian food - Edit
Good if you’re travelling with non-veggie people.
Read moreLavash is a huge restaurant located in one of the main streets in Yerevan. Has a long menu with armenian options, although vegan nor vegetarian options aren’t labeled so it’s quite confusing.
Ghapama (the pumpking) is NOT VEGAN because it has honey, so I guess you can asked without it, as I see a lot of pics in happycow.
Staff is very friendly, and price is ok.
Pros: Typical armenian food, Nice staff
Cons: Non labeled options, Quite noisy

Lovely service - Edit
There are a few options, but not a lot. Nonetheless, the walnut dip and peas (without butter) were probably my favourite part. The pumpkin was a bit tasteless.
Read moreService was 10/10. Our server was super professional and made sure to request my peas and pumpkin were made without butter, but with oil instead.

Beautiful place - some vegan options (not labelled) - Edit
Had the Aveluk soup which was really nice with lavash bread which is baked in a traditional oven that you can see through the glass window. They don’t have a lot of vegan things it seems, the pumpkin sorrel in the photos from others contains honey so isn’t vegan but maybe you can ask for it without? Many other things that could be vegan say contains butter - eg. Peas, veggies etc.

Delicious food! - Edit
We had the best dip (walnutpaste) with a variety of bread, filled tomato with eggplant, summer salad and bbq potatoes (so far the best we've tried in Armenia).

Delicious! - Edit
We loved our experience here from start to finish! The pomegranate wine is an absolute must -- couldn't believe how much the pomegranate taste came through! Their homemade tan (yogurt drink, so not vegan) was perfect. The food was perfectly prepared and arrived within good time. Super yummy greens flatbread, and the ghapama with lavash was great! Yummy good vegetarian options. Staff was great! We were on the ground floor and could see the lavash being made, and this made it even more special to be able to wave through the glass and thank them for the delicious bread! Would absolute recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Yerevan!

I had the wild soral soup and khinkali with greens. So good. The soup was tasty. The khinkali which are like ravioli but with more greens and an excellent green sauce. Which I enjoyed with a glass of pomegranate wine

Upscale restaurant - delicious food - Edit
Lavash is a really nice place to sit over a slow lunch. Vegan options include barbecued potatoes, mushrooms and mixed vegetables - really tasty! The entree of pickled vegetables was huge! Service was attentive and efficient.
