Lovely little Restaurant - Edit
I only drank a red wine here but I had a bite of the two dishes in my pics. It was delicious 👌 I would definitely come back next time visiting Malaga.

Excellent spot for vegan Spanish classics and seafood lovers alike - Edit
What they did well:
Read moreLa Vegana Tapería is a lovely place to enjoy vegan versions of traditional Spanish dishes. The menu is wide, creative, and beautifully presented — great for anyone who misses Spanish classics or seafood but wants them plant-based. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the staff are friendly and helpful.
How they could earn 5 stars:
Personally, I don’t really miss meat or seafood, so I’d love to see more natural, less processed options — more vegetables, legumes, or homemade dishes instead of the imitation meats. Some dishes also seem to be reheated in the microwave, which takes away from the freshness a bit.
Pros: Great variety of vegan Spanish tapas, Big menu with creative tapas and seafood alternati, Friendly service
Cons: A bit too focused on imitation meat and seafood, Frequent microwave use for heating dishes, Could offer more natural, less processed options

SIMPLY AMAZING!!! - Edit
I'm in awe - everything was SO delicious and I felt like I'm getting the authentic Spanish tapas experience for the first time as a vegan. Even the "shrimps" and "octopus" were so close to the real thing, even my mixed-diet companion was confused. Will definitely come again ❤️

Main Memory of Malaga! - Edit
Without a doubt, the most memorable food eaten in Malaga 2025 (although other restaurants are available)! La Vegana Taperia far excelled expectation and I have nothing but praise for the menu choices and serving staff. (I was happily surprised, as the day before I had popped in for info but found a couple of staff members unhelpful.) The food was nicely presented and tasted incredible. We had Cappaccio de Octopus, Patatas Bravas and a (huge) Russian Salad. Simple food with top notch taste. Pricing is modest, location is very close to Picasso Plazza, and the local area is slightly bohemian. I am so glad we returned and shall make a point of revisiting whenever possible.
Read morePros: Modest pricing for decent sized portions , 100% Vegan, Well thought out menu choices

We have since revisited and again had a really great experience. This time we chose the Russo Salad and a Beef Bao as our edible victims. They did not disappoint! Also, the pricing is actually particularly modest so increase your tips!

Super bueno! - Edit

Good to have vegan options but not amazing - Edit
I was a bit disappointed by this restaurant. It was good to have lots of vegan options however some were not great. Tasty options were the bravas, ‘meatballs’, croquettes and padron peppers. Lots of the food was fried and some dishes could have been improved such as the vegan tortilla which tasted bland. Overall, not sure it’s worthy of the 5 star reviews.

Awesome vegan tapas🌱 - Edit
La Vegana Taperia was the first restaurant my boyfriend and I went to on our visit to Málaga and we loved it!!
Read moreIt is a small restaurant, so it can get easily crowded, but the service and food are amazing. I can confirm that probably it was the best plant-based tapas I had for a while.
We ordered the croquetas of the day which had cheese in them, pimientos del padron, tortilla de patatas with alioli, cheese sticks (that were so good we ordered them again) and fried aubergine with cane honey.
If you are in the area I highly recommend eating there🌱

So happy to find a 100% veggie place to eat in Málaga ! Everything tasted so great😄we were 3 and shared six different tapas. We paid around 13€ each, drink included (and every bite was worth it !) I highly recommand the Andaluz style brocheta and the croquetas

Parada imprescindible a Màlaga - Edit

Great but very fried ! - Edit
Great to have a vegan tapearías, however be prepared , like much of the Spanish vegan options a deep fried fest is in store , we had the Russian salad, skewers, meat balls and chorizo. The last 2 came on a bed of fries so we wished we had known as wouldn’t have ordered patatas bravas as well. I’d say drop in for a tapas snack with a drink !

Delicious authentic Spanish food - Edit
This is the best place to eat as a vegan in Malaga! We went three times! Each dish was delicious and so great to try some traditional dishes. There are a few fish options that do not have the fishy taste which we liked.

Slightly unimpressed - Edit
We ordered the patatas with alioili, gambas al pilpil, tortilla, chorizo in wine sauce and pimientos.
Read moreThe patatas were okay, nothing special. Gambas was a fun thing to experience, but were quite rubbery and could’ve had more flavour and be served with bread. Tortilla was quite nice, although soft and slightly sticky in consistency? Chorizo in a very weird texture, but flavour was good. Pimientos were great!
We also ordered lemonades, that were just water with a lot of lemon juice in…
Overall, big menu, and fun to be able to order freely and try traditional Spanish food, but the food for us was generally lacking. A lot of oil and potato, and not too much protein.
Toilet is not very nice or clean.
Would want to go back to order differently and give it another chance!

Pros: Fully vegan manu, Fun to try fish and seafood options, Good prices
Cons: Disappointing food, Lemonade was just lemon water, Not clean toilet
