We were looking forward to the visit because of the many good reviews but unfortunately we were disappointed. We had bigoli amatriciana and some sort of ravioli - the ravioli didn‘t really have a taste and the bigoli also were bland.

The staff was friendly, but overall, considering the price it was a miss. 😕

I was really looking forward to my dinner at La Lanterna, but left quite disappointed by the food😒Tempeh triangles were okay, but came with a very bitter side of greens. The famous carbonara tasted mainly of mustard, and the bean filling of ravioli was weirdly sweet... The evening was saved by a very good dessert - panna cotta (from La Magnolia pastry shop). Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere were a plus.

Un piccolo ristorante con piatti gustosi e vegani. Io e figlia abbiamo preso bis di primi (carbonara e amatriciana) e due dolci un cremoso all'arancia e mandorle caramellate e una monoporzione al pistacchio e inserto di lampone.

Ristorante vegano molto carino, in zona San Zeno. Abbiamo preso un tris di primi: un’amatriciana, gnocchi con fonduta e tortellini di seitan. Questi ultimi non ci hanno fatto impazzire, mentre gli altri due primi erano molto buoni e saporiti. Abbiamo poi preso 3 dolci: una mousse di cacao, banane e cocco (dolce crudista), un tiramisù classico e un’altra torta di cui non ricordo il nome. Tutti ottimi, soprattutto la mousse 😍

Read moreThe food here is just no good and the very ingredients are low quality.
We had the radicchio gnocchi, which were undercooked, didn't taste like radicchio and were extremely salty. If someone fed them to you blindfolded, you wouldn't know what you are eating (ultimate proof of bad food).
We also had the seitan tortellini. They looked and tasted like store-bought tortellini. The "sauce" had olives and artichoke. The olives seemed straight out of the tin and we had to look very hard to find the artichoke. Regardless, it tasted like plain salt.
Finally, we decided to try a slice of white chocolate cake. It was advertised as made by a pastry chef, but we were faced by a slice half as big as any normal serving and which tasted "stiff" like store-bought mass produced cakes.
Nothing in our experience justified the price paid. We can't fathom how people could find this food any good.
Regardless, also the "vibe" was off. First, the waitress, although not rude by any means, seemed disappointed that we had ordered only a first course each. Secondly, an worse, the person who handles the dishes with the food had a very long and ungroomed beard and hair, which is not hygienic in a restaurant. Not what you expect in a restaurant that's advertised as high-end (and priced as such).
Again we are very heartbroken, but it's not fair to praise something just because it's vegan and it's not fair to businesses that really deserve praise. A job should be well done.

Having read a lot of these reviews I expected a lot. Staff were blunt and not hugely accommodating. Food was ok but too salty and also cold. Genuinely feel like this is a Jekyll and Hyde place, either great or very average.

Really bad Italian kitchen - Edit
I came to the restaurant because they have typical italian kitchen. The stuff is really friendly. First we get bread which tasted like stale bread. The zucchini Flowers stuffed with Cicerchie Mousse with rocket pesto was disappointing. The pesto was so bitter that it was inedible. The Carbonara was the worst I have ever eaten and the Basil Gnocchi were undercooked.
