Non-veg
Serves meat, vegan options available. Small restaurant with outdoor seating. "Vegetarian" advertised on the sign outside. Serves typical Ecuadorian "almuerzos" which could possibly be made vegan by omitting certain ingredients (ask staff). Staff does not understand what vegan is but just tell them and ask to omit certain ingredients. Lunches include tea, soup, rice, beans, vegetables and salad. Open Mon-Sat 9:00am-4:30pm. Closed Sun.

COVID-safe, cheap vegan option - Edit
It took me a long time to find a place that had outdoor seating and served a typical almuerzos.
Read moreMost of the restaurants in this area only do a-la-carte, so you can expect to pay $6-15 for a lunch. It was a relief to find this joint with tables circling around their outdoor fig tree, and typical $3 lunches. They even have vegan soup!
Pros: cheap, covid-save outdoor seating, friendly staff
Cons: You have to explain "vegan"
