Loved it - Edit
When i arrived, it was still closed, but theY were so kind and opened just for me( I was starving after a 7 hour trip from Palenque ). As I really need to eat vegetables, they served a vegetarian tamale ( hoje de chipolin con queso) $35 with a side of stemede vegetables and avocado ( not on the menu) Horchata. All very tasty, the people there are very kind the atmosphere lovely and they do accept card. I'll go back.

Nice spot - Edit
Was a bit hard to find at first but I liked the place. First time I tried tamales and the staff helped me explain the idea of how to eat and I found them very nice. Really liked the atole de guayaba as a warm drink.

Delicious! Great value for money super friendly atmosphere and a TEMAZCAL! - Edit
Amazing value for money, I came here several times and really enjoyed everything I ate! This is my favourite place in San Cris, it has a lovely rustic vibe and the owner is very friends and knowledgable - I tried a potato tamale, mushroom tamale, veggie burrito, omelette and I atole. They have a good range of veggie and vegan options, delicious sauces and drinks. Highly recommend for something affordable, friendly and cultural. They even have a temazcal!

They always have problems - Edit
When I went there once, they didn't have gas and couldn't offer food to eat there, only to go, and they had a few vegan options left. When I went there a second time, their toilets were broken and they didn't have all vegan options. When I went there a there a third time, they seated me on a table with a chair were a nail stuck out and I damaged my trouser. They only had 2 types of vegan tamales left.

Delicious tamales - Edit
If you like tamales or want to learn to like them, this is the place. We liked the tamales here so much, we went twice in a row. Be sure to have the atole as well. Separate vegan menu. Vegan cheese. And lovely staff. Not a vegetarian establishment.

Fab tamales and soups - Edit
We went here twice while in San Cristobal De Las Casas, both times were lovely!!
Read moreThe tamales are absolutely delicious, fresh, hot and with really yummy fillings. We had potato & pumpkin flower, mushroom, vegetable, and mole mushroom. All were so so good, but it was the potato & pumpkin flower tamale that brought us back.
We had our tamales with soups, both the vegetable and the Aztec soup. These were so great, huge, and filled with veg!!
Soup and tamales were such warming meals up in the cooler mountains.
The freshly squeezed orange juice was also notably good!
Pros: The best tamales!!, Warming yummy soups , Nice atmosphere

We had a mole tamale, Aztec soup and enchiladas Rojas and a slice of the chocolate cake.
Food was extremely tasty, prices are very reasonable, the service was solid and the ambience and energy was spot on.
Highly recommended
