Vegan option in San Fernando Market - Edit
I always find it hard to come along with vegan options inside markets so this place is great. Their portions are very big and the price is good. They have dishes from latin America. Staff is very friendly although it's usually crowded. Definitely will come back.

Came here before our 12 course meal at El Invernadero (has a vegan option). That was a mistake as their portions are very large.

We may have seen them microwaving the potatoes which made us a bit sad. The seats sandwich was good. Cheese was an interesting jello like texture. He liked the choripan but I found it underwhelming.

Really great to find vegan options in mercado San Fernando, as i was spending the weekend with a friend in Madrid. I had burrito and croquetas, it was fresh, appreciated it. Appreciate also that they allowed my friend to come with food from another stand (as it can be allowed in mercados) , really a nice time, thank you!

I arrived at 13:00 on a Sunday to get lunch. There was indeed someone in the kitchen so it was about to open. I took a sit in front of the counter so that I am visible as a customer, a second staff came but ignored me. Both staff, from the kitchen, and the one that just arrived saw me but also ignored me. I waited until 13:16 so they greet me and give me the menu but nothing. I decided to just go because I don't like being ignored as a customer nor waiting for a long time. Don't support vegan places with such rude attitudes.

We saw great reviews on Happy Cow and were so excited to try the food! We arrived in the afternoon and saw that there were plenty of seating available. The staff was not friendly and did not acknowledge us when we greeted him. We found a seat and went to the counter to place our order. We ordered the potato’s with some white cheese on it, the tortilla, 2 chorizo sandwiches, and IPA’s. The highlight of the show is the tortilla. Every bite was amazing. The potatoes were over powered with the sauce and the chorizo sandwiches weren’t that great. It was a little sour and the sauce didn’t taste good. We didn’t finish our sandwiches at all and were left with a bad taste in our mouths. Would only come back for the tortilla. Not worth the hype.

Great lunch spot near El Rastro flea market - Edit
After exploring the madness that is the El Rastro flea market for a few hours, we were ready for a spot of lunch. This place, located nearby in the totally buzzing Mercado de San Fernando, hit the spot perfectly! It's quite hard to find but is definitely worth seeking out - you'll find it in unit ten right towards the back of the market. The menu is 100% vegan and there are plenty of tasty options to choose from. In fact, deciding what to order is the hardest part!

Both the mushroom and pumpkin & leek varieties were delicious. The burrito was also very good, particularly the vegan chorizo. What's more, service was friendly & kind. Not bad value either. All in all, a great little place!

La tradicional taberna, pero con productos 100% vegetales. La persona que nos atendió fue súper atenta, amable y sacó la comanda rápidamente, a pesar de estar sola. Todo lo que pedimos estaba riquísimo: croquetas, patatas con mojo y choriburrito, y a un precio más que razonable. Un sitio para repetir.
