Excellent food - Edit
Less than a 30 minute walk from my hotel this was nestled in a quiet neighborhood. I came here for dinner and I want disappointed, excellent food, great service and ambience. Will come again if I get the chance. Btw the seaweed wrapped fried rice was out of this world.

Stylish place in an interesting gritty area - Edit
Unfortunately I only visited this place once. To get here I took a monorail to Bukit Bintang train station and walked via Changkat. When I walked through Changkat, it seemed to be a gritty area filled with many massage parlours with pushy sellers outside offering their services. Contrasting with the neighbourhood it was in, Kusa Japanese had a premium feel inside and was cool and stylish. The Japanese food was great, especially the mango sushi.

Amazing experience - Edit
The food here is just unbelievable! If we were in Kuala Lumpa for longer we'd eat here every night to work through the entire menu, but alas, the one visit is all we have, but what a visit! Fantastic service, and like I mentioned before, food that just jumps off the menu and into your mouth. We enjoyed all of this delightful cuisine washed down with a wonderful pot of green tea (though there are so many other wonderful drinks available). All in all, so glad we found this place and had the pleasure to experience it 💚

I was early and the first customer of the day so there wasn't a lot of ambience but the food was served very quickly and was fresh and very tasty. Great to have so much choice and dessert too!

Yummy - Edit
It was a great experience to eat in a fully Japanese vegan restaurant. Although the food didn’t exactly match the pictures on the menu, it was served very quickly, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was nice.

good, small portions - Edit
the sushi is definitely good and their other food as well. given it's a sushi restaurant the portions are small, also the desserts and its relatively pricey. and i have to say the selection is not the biggest, but i am used to vegan sushi at secret garden in berlin, so i think in general this place still does a pretty good job.

Wow! High-quality and Attention to Detail - Edit
We really loved eating here. Flavors were great and presentation was beautiful. There is a lot of attention to detail on flavor, texture, and appearance. With the vegan sushi sampler, they even told us their recommended order of eating which totally made sense. There are also plenty of GF options including keto noodles for subbing into ramen dishes. We will definitely come back! #Veganuary

Fast service - Edit
The menu is extensive and the meals are a bit small- which makes it fun to order lots to share! We really enjoyed everything we ordered. Service was attentive and super quick. Food was fantastic, spice was a bit on the spicier side so be modest with your spice choice (1-5).

A Fantastic (a bit pricey, albeit) option for Vegan Sushi - Edit
When we found a vegan sushi option - we had to go. The interior is very well set up. The service is also quick and courteous. Did not realize they charge for a glass of water whether cold or room temperature (without ice).
Read moreStarted with Tempeh - fried to perfection. Crispy and soft inside. Little under seasoned for our taste. The mayo type dip was a bit underwhelming as well.
We also tried the large All-in-one which included Rainbow, Climate (great) Mango (Okay - it is sweet), Crispy, Pure and Chuka Wakame (amazing). We assumed we would be full by then but we weren’t so we ordered a Jjajiang Ramen. First it looked different from the menu picture which was OK. We mixed as best as could and still didn’t get to the picture. And I guess perhaps we didn’t enjoy as much.
We also had a glass of Passion Fruit Kombucha - it was good.
I am so glad that there is a Vegan Sushi place in KL a rarity in Canada and even more I think in KL, M. #Veganuary
Pros: All Vegan, Sushi, Vegan - need I say more, A bit in expensive side.

Very delicious! We got popcorn mushroom, kusa ramen, 10pcs sushi, tempura handroll, flower tea and kaffel. Everything was super tasty and this was filling for two people. The restaurant is beautiful. More pricy than average restaurants but worth it!

Cozy place - Edit
Nice place in the center of the city. Portions are very small or maybe I was lucky to order such hahah. Some people wanted to sit but they couldn’t because it was stuffed with people so i was truly lucky to have a small table. The food is ok but I wasn’t very hungry to try their ramen (upd so I came another day and tried, tastes good but nothing special)
Read moreUpd: the portions are still small but the staff is very kind and luckily there was almost no people so I waited like 10 minutes for the food, very fast

Super leckeres Japananisches Essen - Edit
Sehr leckerer Japaner.

Great food and service - Edit
Great Japanese vegan food with a huge selection on the menu. We went for the 20-piece sushi selection which had a lot of variety though lacked in strong flavours. On the side we had the popcorn mushrooms which were breaded with a KFC-like seasoning, and the spongy tofu which was really well seasoned. Recommend the passion fruit kaffel drink. Everything was very reasonably priced, service was quick and efficient.

Nice but not good value - Edit
Pleasant ambiance and service, we liked the call waiter button. But for the price, you don't get much food. After ordering 20 sushi rolls, the seaweed salad, and some extra specialty rolls we were told that wouldn't be enough for two people, and ended up ordering tempera also which was a tiny portion to share.
Read moreEverything was good, but size and taste did not justify the price, next time we would order differently, and probably opt for ramen, which looked like a large serving.

Amazing experience, brilliant food - Edit
We loved our lunch, it was so quick, flavourful and well curated. We ate the all in one sushi platter, Kusa ramen, a potato dish and the tofu bowl. Each part was so flavourful and interesting - we ate so well, I can keep going on! We ended our meal with a creme Brulee - given that I don't eat eggs, it was my first one, and it was so good!

Decent Food - Edit
This is a stylish looking restaurant with extremely attentive service and a fairly long menu of Japanese dishes.
Read moreWe shared a couple of starters, the popcorn mushroom and crunchy tempura. The popcorn coating was not very crispy, unfortunately, but it has some decent flavours from the mushroom and seasoning. The tempura was extremely lightly battered and not seasoned at all, so it seemed. The dipping sauce was also extremely bland.
I had the jjajiang ramen, but my expectations were not met when it was served as a plate of noodles with mushroom sauce. The lighting in the restaurant was too dark for me to see in the photo in the menu that it was brothless. I should have paid more attention, but I didn't even know that brothless ramens existed! The sauce was very tasty, but it really wasn't what I was in the mood for, unfortunately.
My partner had the kusa ramen, and was happier with his dish, which was an actual ramen. The noodles were good. The broth was creamy and spicy, but really the chilli overwhelmed any other flavours. The toppings were fine but a bit unexciting and didn't really add any flavours.
Overall, it was not really for us.
