Awesome vegan Japanese - Edit
This place is pretty cool. Located within an office building ground floor. Everytike I came here it was rammed. So make sure you reserve a table. The food was amazing really tasty and thought out well. The service was quick and with a smile. My only cons are the sushi dishes a kinda on the small side, and it's a bit more pricey than outside vendors. But it's defo earth a visit here!

Good but expensive - Edit
The food and the area looks fancy. It was good but to be honest I think I read so many good comments and the pictures looks so good that I expect it would be better in terms of taste. So it's good yes, if you want to have a nice and fancy restaurant it's the right place. But it is not the best food I had in KL and it is too expensive.

Pricey food in nice atmosphere - Edit
The place has a nice and higher class vibe. Food looks extremely delicious but is not special at all. We had a ramen soup and ramen noodles which were not bad but mostly spicy (although we only ordered level 2 of 5 and we like to eat bit spicy). Especially the soup did not have the typical thick and savoury texture which was bit disappointing.
Read morePrices are quite high for the pretty small portions. But the speed of the food was incredible, even for Ramen. Within 3 minutes we had everything on the table.
I liked the Kombucha, for my wife it was bit too sweet (what is indeed right).
All in all a can-visit as everything is vegan and clean. But no must-have.

Vegan fine dining - Edit
I had planned lunch with a colleague so I was looking for a slightly fancier place and definitely found it! It is also very popular, with easily a 20 minutes wait even at lunch! But the food is both beautiful and delicious with lots of options.

The best place in KL - Edit
A perfect place for simplistic Japanese foods. Not too flavourful, but it gives you a chance to better enjoy the unprocessed foods.

Nice Atmosphere, bland food - Edit
The atmosphere of the place is really nice and the dishes certainly look good, but overall the food was a bit bland and generic - not bad, but nothing special. Perhaps it was just the particular dishes that we ordered but somehow I don’t think that’s the case.
Read moreOn the other hand the drinks were really nice, especially the kombucha. The service was also very pleasant and professional. Definitely worth one visit, if you’re in the area, but not necessarily for the food.
Pros: Nice Atmosphere , Good service , Great drinks

Give it a try - Edit
The food was pretty tasty and the service was nice and quick. There were pleanty of options to go for so you’ll find something you like. They even give you a choice of spice level. Only thing is that the portions were a little small depending on what dish you got but it was pleanty. The price was really good aswell😄

So nice!! - Edit
Huge menu. Loved everything I tried! I also loved that the plates were small and inexpensive, so I got to try a lot! It was a little hard to get to in the Grab, I think because it still shows up as Supe on the map apps. But I found it easy enough. I was there close to closing time so there were no desserts besides ice cream, which is not what I would have picked. But wow was it delicious and I’m so glad I tried it! Super creamy and sweetened with coconut sugar. Perfect meal.

Go eat here at least once. It’s so beautiful and delicious. We loved everything about this place and would have sat and eaten all night (if it weren’t for tired kids). The wasabi served is also next level. Go now!

Food and service was top tier and for that quality I thought the prices would be higher but they were very regular.

Portion sizes were smaller so nothing was left over. You definitely have to order more than one dish if you're really hungry.

FIVE STARS. The best kept secret in Malaysia. - Edit
The atmosphere, service and food are 1st class. I could spend hours there, just to soak up the ambience. I had 6 courses for €16.00, in Europe it would be at least €45 - €55. Treat yourself.

Read moreWent here again, still good food. Name of the restaurant changed but menu appears to be the same still. As others noticed, the sushi is better than the rice and noodle dishes though. They look nice in the pictures but aren't that special. The sushi was really good though. Appears to mostly be visited by western tourists/expats.

Food great. Service not so. - Edit
We wanted to love this place as an all vegan Japanese restaurant but the service let them down. They clearly close at 3 but upon arrival at ten past two we were hurried to order and repeatedly told the kitchen wants to close. This meant that we ordered a couple of small plates and not the meal that we planned. The menu is extensive (and exciting) so part of the enjoyment would have been looking through the menu and asking some questions before ordering. Even when our food came, they were supper keen to clear plates and get us out of there so they could go home. By twenty to three, a number of the staff were eating in the restaurant, obviously keen to enjoy the excellent food before going home at 3. The food we had was great and we’d return, but please if anyone is reading this, either change your advertised closing times, or refrain from hurrying customers who have arrived 50 minutes before you close.

Delicious!!! - Edit
Kusa was previously called SUPE and, according to their facebook, has recently been renamed and rebranded. The interior is minimal, but very stylish and pretty. The staff are welcoming.
Read moreWe are not very familiar with japanese food apart from the usual fare offered in European restaurants, so we were fascinated with the variety of choices. In the end, my husband chose the All in One sushi platter, while I had the miso pekora ramen. We also shared the spongy tofu.
Everything tasted truly excellent and we even ordered another portion of the spongy tofu because we loved it so much. We also had the crème brûlée cheese cake for dessert, which was divine.
The location is not too convenient and a bit off the beaten path (of course depending on where you are), but it was absolutely worth it.
The restaurant was packed with people, so it might be best to reserve a table in advance.

Excellent Chocolate Cakes. Experimental Japanese Dishes. - Edit
SUPE Vegan was called "Sushi Kitchen" when I visited, but the restaurant name changed due to copyright reasons. I was impressed by every dish I tried here. Eating the Inari Sushi (the tan bean curd wrap with rice inside) reminded me of my childhood days, because I enjoyed that same dish as a child-- and then ate it 20 years later at this restaurant.
Read moreI'd like to address the comments that another reviewer shared here: SUPE Vegan does offer Japanese dishes, which their menu is clear about. Inari (which I mentioned above) and ramen are Japanese dishes-- so I disagree with the reviewer about this aspect. However, I do agree that SUPE Vegan's food likely isn't authentic Japanese cuisine, like what you'd find in Japan. I would describe it as Japanese dishes with a twist: not authentic, but more experimental.
I enjoyed the apple and green tea chocolate cakes from here so much, that I took four slices to-go.

Japanese inspired, yes. Japanese cuisine, no. - Edit
I lived 10 years in the Tokyo area, most of which was before being vegan. So I know what I'm talking about when I say that Supe is not going to satisfy cravings for Japanese food. Some of it looks like the real thing (the sushi and makis), but even they don't feel like veganized forms of sushis one might have eaten when they were omnivore.
Read moreDon't get me wrong, the food was quite good. But keep expectations in check when visiting. The fact that none of the staff speaks Japanese and that no Japanese at all appears in the menu (I asked, they don't have another one) says it all. It's a well known fact that Japanese nationals love to eat their cultural food when abroad. So if a place selling so called 'Japanese' food does not cater for Japanese people, it's not a good sign.
The restaurant in nice and cosy though, and the food is beautifully presented.
I won't go again, but I'm glad I did.
Pros: Beautiful and mostly tasty food, Nice interior
Cons: Not going to satisfy Japanese food cravings, A bit on the expensive side
