Rick Deckards First vegan encounter in Bangkok 2049

Visited October 10th, 2025. Found it on street view on Google Maps, just down the street from our amazing hotel Holiday Inn Bangkok Silom.

I was looking for a vegan or vegetarian restaurant close to our hotel and didn't have to go further than down the street from our hotel to find one - how amazing is that?!

As I expected that our (in all other aspects amazing) hotel wouldn't deliver on the vegan side - and I was right! - we went to Krua as a kind of pre-dinner stock up at 4 pm in the afternoon, just hours after landing in Bangkok. It was hauntingly empty of people, but we were nicely greeted and served.

We hunted down a deep fried soy dish with chili sauce - it felt perfectly Thai and it was super tasty!
We added another soy dish, which was amazingly garlicky and the papaya salad was also garlucky and heavenly.

Clean minimalistic place, nice staff, amazing food. Highly recommend.

Origami receipt specs:
- Pla Thod Saam Rot (Deep Fried Soy With Sweet Chili Sauce) 159 baht
- Moo Krop Je Phad Krathim Rad Khao (Fried crispy soya with garlic with rice) 99 baht
- Green Papaya Salad 89 baht
- Pina Colada Mocktail 79 baht
- Schweppes Dry Ginger Ale

Nice and Schmancy

Fancy dining venue, very large, attentive wait staff. According to the menu it’s a Thai restaurant, although all the front and back of house staff and patrons (other than me) were Indian when I dined there.

The Green Mango Salad was very tasty, if not spicy as I’d requested. In addition to the higher prices here than most places serving similar dishes, a whopping 20% was added for ‘tax’ and ‘VAT’ - literally nowhere I’ve been in the past month has included such fees, it was like being in the USA.

Pros: Tasty salad, Long opening hours, Good service, Swish surrounds, other than the noisy male patrons

Cons: Hefty taxes added to every meal

Recommended!

Very satisfying red curry (with tofu and coconut milk), spicy tofu salad and Khao Soi. With two drinks 500baht. Good food, polite staff, clean toilet. What more can you ask for?

Not happy here

I don’t know why my previous review from last year was deleted but I just remembered it not being good
Staff was awkwardly standing around and not very friendly
Food also just below average
Would not return

Tasty

Really enjoyed the food here, yes it's not 100% authentic but still decent Thai dishes at an affordable price. They understood vegan requests well.

good thai food - all vegan

I was graving for a green curry, so I searched for it on happy cow and found that place.
They have a huge menu (look at my pictures..there a few pages of the whole menu) with lots of thai food in it.
I took a salad and the green curry with rice.
They restaurant actually is vegetarian or vegan - but if you tell you are vegan they can do everything what’s on the menu vegan, so it’s easy to order.
There was a lot coconutmilk in the dishes, but it was quite good!!

Pros: green curry (soup) with rice , large delicious iced americano, large menu - all vegan possible

Cons: automatic 10% service charge + 7% vat added

Very tasty

We asked for what they recommended and had the duck and a curry noodle thing I think with rice

It was our first proper meal in Thailand and very delicious with lots of spice and large portions

A very nice surprise in Central Embassy Mall

Krua Broon is a nice vegetarian eatery on Lower Ground of Central Embassy mall. In fact you enter EatThai where there are many thai food restaurants, Krua Broon being one of them. When we visited Bangkok it became our default choice not only because of location but pretty good vegan food. So far it is our best pick in Bangkok

Pros: Spicy sups, Friendly staff

Delicious curry

We found this all vegan place and were amazed by these all options. We ordered red curry, nochicken noodles, tofu with rice and fried rice. They were all so good. I ate the red curry with coconut milk and rice and it was so delicious! The portions were cheap, only about 140bht (=2,20 euros). They give you a card when you enter the food court and you just show it on the counter. When you leave the whole place, they check the card and you pay all you bought.

Pros: All vegan, Cheap, Delicious flavours

Cons: Located next to sea food

Freshly made food

Had the green curry rice, freshly made to order, 145bht. Very nice, but small serving. Allow for 2 dishes if it’s a main meal. So 300bht for a meal in a food court is quite pricey. Saying that, it’s a nicer setting compared to Terminal 21 for example. If not on a budget, nice stop off for vegan food.

Pros: Nice setting , Good food

Cons: Slightly pricey , Small portion
