Family-run restaurant serving Hungarian food - Edit
The vegan restaurant is family-run by mother and daughter. They serve traditional Hungarian food such as goulash and also curry dishes. It is located in a cellar nearby the center. We can fully recommend having dinner there.

Almost out of the Kosmosz.. - Edit
This was good food! We had the stew and Hungarian pasta.. Both were pretty good! But really needed some seasoning, as previous reviews warned.. Wine was good, chips were excellent and the restaurant is lovely!

Comfort food downstairs - Edit
This spot does a great job veganizing classic Hungarian dishes. But this time, I tried the Gyros Plate - visually appealing, but not as flavorful as I had hoped.
Read moreOn previous visits (last time in 2019), I had their burgers, Goulash, and Seitan Stew, various desserts all of which were solid choices. The service is always friendly, the prices are fair, and the atmosphere is calm.
Worth checking out if you’re into vegan takes on Hungarian comfort food.

Okay - Edit
Not great, not terrible. The dishes lack flavour and the selection is a bit all over the place. Wouldn‘t go there again.

Great seitan barbecue 😋 - Edit
We started with a small portion of goulash and then we had the seitan barbecue which comes with fries or sweet fries. Really tasty, especially the barbecue sauce! The prices are fair and the service is friendly. Would definitely come back to try more dishes😄

Cozy traditional restaurant - Edit
Small intimate vegan restaurant with few tables and few options on the menu. We got a soup, a cheese pasta and a seitan stew but they also have burgers. We also got two slices of cake and they were very good.

Good but could be much better - Edit
I was glad to find a vegan place that serves local cuisines. Goulash was delicious. They were out of the Vegan Stew - which is mainly why I went there so I was disappointed. I had the creamy pasta which was delicious in first few bites very rich but after that I felt like I needed more taste. I asked for hot sauce but they gave me a siracha bottle that was empty- siracaha was not going with the creamy texture anyway. I didn’t finish it. They were low on staff so it was just one girl who clearly looked overworked so didn’t add to the experience. Husband had a burger was ok. #Veganuary

Amazing Hungarian food - Edit
We liked this place so much that we went back. This lovely restaurant has traditional Hungarian food as well as burgers. Everything we tried was super tasty and homemade. The goulash was also great. The desserts were also incredible. Very reasonably priced. Between £20-£30 for two people. I’d go back to Budapest just to have the Kremes again!!!

Good! 👍 - Edit
Vegan food at reasonable prices with fair portions. Don’t listen to the small portions reviews, what you get for the price is fab.
Read moreMy biggest critique though is the genera flavour of the food. The menu has some really exciting things to order, which are all really lacking in flavour… especially the cottage cheese style tofu pasta. We ended up dumping all the leftover bbq sauce from the bbq seitan into the pasta to try and get any kind of taste out of it and it still managed to taste like absolutely nothing.
Staff are great and really friendly, wait time for food was not long, would eat here again in a pinch if I needed but there’s just so much amazing vegan food in Budapest that I probably wouldn’t return.
Pros: Staff, Short wait time for food, Great alcohol selection
Cons: Bland food

Seitan stew was tasty, but the portions could be bigger, compared to other restaurants. We’re leaving still a little hungry.

Bad service and doesn't taste wow - Edit
We ordered 3 dishes.
Read more1 - garden salad with tofu - the smoked tofu was marinated in too much soy. The yogurt was liquid and tasteless.
2 - pasta with Cottage - tasteless, very, missing flavor, boring dish.
3 - baked veggies and rice - was nice.
All dishes were in decent portions.
Service was bad we were with only 2 other tables but workers set on a side table and weren't approaching during the time we ate / finished.

Nice to try goulash - Edit
We tried the seitan /stew goulash. Generous portion size and tasty, although not stand out flavours. Nice to try something more traditional. The atmosphere and interior wasn’t amazing but the place is cheap and the food came quickly.

Verborgen pareltje in Boedapest - Edit

Great evening meal. Started with seasonal soup (broccoli - my fave) and a dipping plate with fries (fabulous chips!). We then had ‘the moon’ burger with sweet potato fries and the quesadilla - both tasty. Best of all was the custard and cream tart 😋
