Simply incredible! - Edit
Kong totally wowed us. We had cauliflower wings and croquettes to start which were tasty and plentiful, but the big wow factor came from the ‘steak and egg’ dish, served with a side of rice, salad and fries (a very generous portion too!). Honestly incredible. This was so tasty and a really cool concept for me. We concluded with the Nutella cake and the parfait for dessert – I highly recommend the parfait, what an amazing combination of mango and chocolate. Definitely go if you’re in Lisbon. I hope to return someday.

Fantastic food! Bacalau tasted like savoury comfort heaven and the pistachio cake?!? - Edit
We were completely blown away by the dishes we had especially the bacalau in my opinion. Steak was also great, the fact that anyone would choose animal ribs over seitan ribs when THESE exist??
Read moreOur server thought the wines weren’t vegan so sadly we did not enjoy a proper drink with our meal but after meeting the owner and asking him he confirmed that all of them are 100% )of course).
For the first time in many years, we “accidentally” had real scallops. We haven’t seen those before, but we do know they are vegan and we enjoy them. Finally the pistachio cake blew our minds!
Pros: The pistachio cake and bacalau were incredible , Glad they have all-vegan wines. , Great place to start a party evening!
Cons: Would have loved to have a better server , House wine was very average🥹

Very delicious and creative - Edit
The dish is Mediterranean salmon and I love the execution. Smash spinach and the sauce made me feel like I'm fine dining. The portion could be a bit bigger.

Meilleur restaurant vegan - Edit

QWe had the following:
Read moreMango Lasso -Amazing
"Cuttle Fish" - very, very good
"Vegan Seiten Steak" - alright, portion size was a bit small. The fake egg on top was not very good.
Vegan Salmon - looked very fancy but was not as good as it looked. Basically Tofu with some Nori sheets around. The sides were amazing though.
Snickers Dessert: extremely good 5/5

Do we even need another review 😅 - Edit
Delicious. Wanted to move to Lisbon due to the food scene. Thrilled to try a veganised classic dish - bitoque. All elements were delicious from 'fake steak' and 'egg' to the rice accompaniment. I had croquettes for starter at the servers recommendation but maybe I am just never that amazed by croquettes? Would like to try the 'fish' dishes next time

Interesting Spin on local Cuisine - Edit
This place was probably the most interesting so far throughout Spain and Portugal.
Read moreI had the cheese platter which was succulent, the croquettes were also very tasty and the children's menu was also quite delightful.
This restaurant is probably where vegans will be able to ensure their protein intake is being met as it does not solely serve seitan which was a nice change.
Definitely loved it!

Amazing Portugese Food - Edit
If you're looking to try some Portuguese food that has been exceptionally veganised, then I absolutely recommend Kong! The egg and seitan are wonderful, such a treat to experience 😋 Also very decent prices for what looks like an upmarket place!

Amazing!!! - Edit
Kong is the perfect example of how a vegan restaurant can deliver an exceptional experience without any pretension. From the moment you walk in, you feel genuinely welcomed — the staff, from servers to the owners, are incredibly kind and attentive, making every visit feel personal and warm.
Read moreThe menu is small, but every dish is absolutely delicious, prepared with care and bursting with flavor. During our five nights in Lisbon, we ended up dining here twice and honestly wish we had come even more often. It is easily one of the best vegan restaurants I’ve ever been to — and I’ve been to many around the world.
Kong proves that you don’t need to be flashy or overcomplicated to stand out. It’s simply excellent food, amazing people, and a truly welcoming atmosphere.

We had bacalhau, bitoque and pastei de nata for dessert. Everything was lovely, just a little bit too much mustard in the sauce of the bitoque but still loved it. 2 ciders, €40 in total

Loved it - Edit
Went here with my omnivore friend, we both loved it. We had starter, Main and a dessert and a glass of wine each and payed around 30 euros each. She had the salmon, and said it tasted like the real thing. I had Francesinha and it was really good. The pistash cake was amazing

Good food, slow service. - Edit
Food was balanced but lacked some taste. I had the cheesecake for dessert, which was disappointing. Very small pieces, without a decent ‘cheesecake’ height. The taste was not amazing enough to merit the small size.

Overall it seems overrated, but still good. Good and fair pricing.

One Star, Anything More is an Offence to Greater Vegan Restaurants - Edit
TLDR: far too much salt. We ordered the cheeseboard and a fish soup. The soup was basically tomato soup with salt to make it seem more sea-ish and one of the two cheeses was like the most salty butter ever. As for the other there are very similar/improved artisan blocks of cheese for half the price in the UK.
Read moreThe following cod dish ended up unfinished (although I then helped so as to not be wasteful) because it was bland and salty. If one made a tofu with dill and lemon sauce at home it would be better. And my salmon style dish had tofu wrapped and fried with nori and sesame seed, easily recreated. The accompanying salty potato cubes are similar but outclassed by supermarket curly fries in the UK (which are less salty) and with soupy sauce that was poured into the middle of the arrangement only added to me starting to feel a little nauseous. We left feeling relatively full after a light on food day, but not in a full of good, vibrant and truly creative praiseworthy food kind of way.
Overall, I'm left quite salty and questioning how this place is being touted as the best vegan restaurant in Europe. And top five in the world is bizarre. None of the true greatest rely on appearances and salt!

Some good food, some bad; hostile waiter. - Edit
Mushroom Tartlet With Berry Coulis and a side of fries.
Read moreSalad was stale, looking and tasting as if it came from a pre-made bag bought in a supermarket two days earlier. Fries were soggy and barely warm. The tartlet itself was very nice, delicious pastry and a tasty sauce.
On the downside, our waiter was quite unpleasant - when we ordered starters and sides, he said, "Do you actually want to eat here? You can go to one of the other restaurants down the road". It was so unexpected that it took us several seconds to process what he had said.
Despite explaining we wanted something light as it was too early for a main meal, he proceeded to treat us with apparent contempt the whole time we were there. Although we had been excited to order from a delicious-sounding selection of desserts, we decided to leave the hostile atmosphere ASAP and therefore were unable to try any.
It was mid-afternoon and the place was almost empty, so we weren't preventing them from seating a higher-spending party. We weren't rude or loud... As you can tell, we spent a lot of time trying to understand why he didn't want us there.
It is only fair to add that the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful, so we think the problem was only this particular waiter.

Pros: Nice furnishings, (mostly) pleasant ambience, Nice selection of desserts
Cons: Horrible waiter, Stale salad and fries

I don't know if it was the same waiter, mostly likely it was, but I picked up unpleasant vibes from him too. And no way would I rate that food anywhere near the number one vegan restaurant in Europe or the top five in the world!
