Eh. - Edit
10/10 service, 3/10 food. We were greeted and seated immediately and our server was very kind and attentive. He offered suggestions on the menu and revisited our table to ensure everything was OK. Going forward this review is reflective of the food only. The jasmine tea was bitter, the tofu steak was ok, but the flavors seemed a bit off. Im not sure if it was too much mushroom or too much sauce but the dish was both bland and somehow overwhelming at the same time. I also ordered a veganized sushi roll but after the first bite was a mouthful of crispy leaves and something mushy I lost my appetite. I've never had actual raw fish before so I'm not sure how close it was to "the real thing" but I was a little gagged by whatever it was that I had. I would recommend either sticking to the veggie rolls on the menu or skipping this place altogether in favor of a fully vegan sushi spot.

TINY portions - Edit
The food was semi decent, but the portions are TINY. ordered on postmates and was left hungry. $10 for one tiny tray of sushi is rediculous. Some of the vegetables in my tempura roll we also raw, which wouldn't be a massive issue if it wasn't pumpkin 🤮 Won't be ordering from here again

WARNING: we ordered vegan but were served real fish - Edit
WARNING TO VEGANS: Kombu Sushi serves you non-vegan food when you order the vegan options.
Read moreWe should have known when our server made so many mistakes early on (forgetting drinks we ordered, giving us the wrong appetizers 3 times) but we were there to watch the game so we stayed.
We ordered the vegan versions of their sushi rolls pointing from their vegan menu and confirming with her multiple times that we wanted the vegan version, not the regular version. But after one bite I realized she still served us the regular roll containing fish, dairy and egg.
The sushi chef confirmed to me that it was in fact the non-vegan version with real fish.
If you are vegan or have any food allergies I do not recommend you dine at Kombu Sushi in Silverlake, as the staff does not take dietary restrictions seriously.
Cons: Staff does not take dietary restrictions seriously, Poor service

Has a lot of vegan options - Edit
Full disclosure: I have not been here in 6 months but because I see there are no reviews I thought I would give a short review.
Read moreThey have vegan sushi options, nice indoor and outdoor seating, outdoor seating is behind the restaurant which is on Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake, fun area.
The staff has been great every time I have been there, I have gone there multiple times over the years. Sushi is decent, and a lot of of vegan options, whole dedicated vegan sushi portion of menu as well as things like brussels sprouts, soups, and tempura.
