Deep dish pizza - Edit
One of the only places I’ve seen that has deep dish vegan options! Pizza was pretty solid, though my non-vegan friends were not crazy about it. Pretty good selection of desserts too!

Especially for European people, one pizza is usually for two. Everything that we have was delicious.

Delicious - Edit
Tried the vegan deep dish pizza and it was really delicious. We ordered ours as half plain cheese and the other half had vegan meat on it. I preferred the plain half! It just had a nice fresh flavor. We also ordered the spinach dip. It was served with warm soft pita bread. So good!

First Deep Dish Pizza - Edit
This is my first time trying a deep dish pizza & idk how I feel about it. Yes it tasted good & very flavorful but it was definitely too much pizza sauce in the middle.

While visiting Chicago I wanted to try deep dish and this place didn't disappoint. This was some of the friendliest service I've experienced and I thought the pizza was great.
Read moreThe crust and sauce were perfect and the cheese was incredible. The soy pepperoni and sausage was a little weak though.
Pros: So friendly , All vegan

So Good - Edit
This food was delicious. It was our first time in Chicago and we wanted to try deep dish. We came across this fully vegan spot and ordered a deep dish pizza, cheesy garlic bread, and cheese fries. They make all the cheese in house and the food was incredible. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in Chicago.

Worth the travel! - Edit
We were a table of 2. We ordered the platter with chikn, mac & cheeze and salad. Then we shared a deep dish. It was a lot of food so we ended up taking half the deep dish home for breakfast the next day. It still tasted great. The owner took time to chat to us and make us feel welcome. Some beers were only $3!!! We wanted to try the brewery across the road and totally regretted it as there wasn't as much of a vibe and we paid $17 for 2 small beers 🥲

Interesting place. We arrived and nobody came over to us for a solid five minutes... We honestly thought it was closed. Once we were spotted, the service was great! The drinks are really good and so is the pizza.

First vegan deep dish experience - Edit
Deep dish was a childhood favorite of mine before going vegan and this one did not disappoint! The frychos and Mac and cheese were great too. Our server was the only one in there at the time but still took care of us so well and was super nice! Will be back for sure.

Thank you for vegan deep dish pizza ~ phew - Edit
Alright so being in Chicago, it was a must to try the classic deep dish. Honestly, we couldn't finish the whole thing because it was so filling. The crust was awesome and sauce was WOW. Tasted even better as leftovers😁It was lovely to see the whole menu was vegan.
Read moreThe place was cute, it reminded me of Spitz in LA
(Mediterranean fusion food) where you can play any of the board games there, and pour your own cup of water. It seems like a great casual place for dates/catching up with friends.
So there is no parking in front and there is no waiter to get your order. Let's stop assuming all food joints require the same services. Seems logical to me to get up and order when you finally know what you want :p

Amazing Dessert - Edit
Great service on the bar side, I believe the servers name is Kyle. Vegan deep dish was good, it was a must try since I’ve never had deep dish pizza. It’s super filling, we were full after one slice, although the pizza was even better the next day eaten cold.
Read moreMac and Cheese is 10/10. I regret not trying the cauliflower wings.
Also ordered the « Turtles » cheese cake and Salted Caramel brownie, those were the most decadent dessert I’ve had in a very long time. Highly recommended.

100% Vegan spot with good food and a bar 🙌🏽 - Edit
Kitchen 17 is a 100% vegan restaurant with a lot of options from pizza to burgers to gyros. The food is good although on the high end as far as cost and the atmosphere is almost always chill and certainly welcoming of all.
Read morePizza - I really do like the deep dish version however I always get it to go and feast the next day on it. For me personally it taste sooo much better when it has a chance to settle and is reheated and consumed.
Chili - I was pleasantly surprised at how good it is although kinda paused at it not being served with crackers or bread unless you pay extra for it.
Chicken Parm - This was gone in about two minutes. I enjoyed everything from the sauce and focaccia bread to the cheese and their very own house made chicken patty.
Mud Pie - I seriously can’t come here without getting a slice of this, it’s that good!
Pros: A vegan deep dish pizza, Really good variety , Plenty of space
Cons: Kinda pricey, Substitutions/extras you will PAY for

We were expecting a nice dine in experience. It seems like it is more of a late night bar spot rather than a restaurant.

Really wanted to love this place but unfortunately it was simply dirty. Clean it - Edit
The place really needs to be cleaned. If the restaurant looks so dirty, I’m scared to think how the kitchen looks. Only one person was working all the tables and was gone half the time. Food was essentially pricey vegan junk food. Never again!

It’s odd. I’ve eaten at K17’s all three locations, from where they started to where they are now, and it’s always a little grungy. I finally, after several years, went yesterday. The place is grungy and the food is greasy bar food. I guess this is their thing. If you like greasy dives, this is your place. It’s not for me.

The deep dish I still talk about.. - Edit
We visited Chicago in the summer and I found this place because I was looking for a vegan deep dish pizza. We got it to go and ate it at a park 30 mins later and it was so tasty and indulgent!! Thank you for making this and satisfying a pair of plant-based tourists.

Eat with your eyes closed - Edit
1st time here. Street parking. Read the signs before parking your car. VegOut scored their Pizza 2nd best in the nation so I had to give it a try. Several tables for dine in and plenty of bar seats.
Read moreI started with the Cauliflower Buffalo Wings. Nothing special. Very similar to frozen wings I would pick up at a food store. I wouldn’t get them again.
I moved onto the traditional deep dish pizza. Made my mouth water when it finally arrived. Vegan mozzarella, marinara, soy sausage, and Seitan pepperoni. The crust was crunchy. The marinara was unique. Soy sausage throughout. I couldn’t distinguish between the sausage and pepperoni so that was a miss for me. I enjoyed it and would come back to try another one of their deep dish pizzas (maybe to go).
Pack your patience as it does seem to take a while for orders to come out. The reason I say close your eyes is because this place is dirty. The floor, bar area, and ceiling look like they haven’t been cleaned in a while. Reminds me of places I went to in college when I really didn’t care about anything except stuffing my face with food and alcohol.
Pros: Best deep dish vegan pizza I’ve had
Cons: Parking, Time from order to table, Dirty floor, bar, ceiling

Overall good - Edit
The new address for this place is
Read more2554 W Diversey Ave. and unfortunately for me google maps had the old address in it which I went to before realizing!
I ordered a deep dish to go, none of the fake meat just onions and garlic added. I also ordered a side of Mac & cheese as well as a raspberry chocolate piece or cake.
Pizza I would give a 7.5/10 maybe 8. The crust is SO GOOD! The sauce is also very flavorful. I would say either the vegan cheese isn’t flavorful enough or their wasn’t enough in my pizza. I also think they forgot garlic completely. I will prob get pizza from them again and will try the fake meat next time.
The Mac & cheese wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was still good and a good price for how much I got. It was pretty oily though. I’d prob give it a 6.5/10.
Now the dessert I got is easily without question a 10/10. So so so delicious!!!
Pros: Good price for the Mac & cheese, Dessert was absolutely mind blowing
Cons: Not enough cheese on the pizza
