Best ice cream in the US - Edit
The ice cream at this place is so creative and hands down the best my family has ever tried anywhere in this country. They are so friendly and I really don’t have words to describe how good it is. I guess there’s a reason they won all these awards. You’d have to cart me away if I ever worked at this place because there would be nothing left. This is flat out the clear winner of all ice cream shops and there’s nothing much more to say.

When visiting Portland I knew an all vegan ice cream parlor was going to be a first stop! Cute little place with so many flavors for scooping and a freezer full of prescooped pints and ice cream sandwiches to take home. Super friendly service. Some flavors change with the season.

Went to their pop up tonight and got the pistachio ice cream in a waffle cone and was very impressed. The pistachio ice cream tasted just like how I remembered it and the waffle cone had a nice crunch to it. I will definitely be coming back to try more flavors!

What a joy to stumble upon this fully vegan ice cream shop. I enjoyed being able to taste many different flavors and settled on the award-winning peanut brittle in a waffle cone. The waffle cone was surprisingly thick and robust!

Kate's has the best Icecream texture/taste comparable to that of quality dairy Icecream that I've had in the past. This time I got an excellent root beer icecream (thought the flavor was strong which was good) with a sugar cone.
Read moreHave gotten their pints in the past, and also really love the Ube and Cookie Monster flavors. I REALLY enjoy their ube, it's vividly purple, creamy, light, and not overpowering. I like that the flavors aren't overly sweet and the atmosphere of the shop.
Bright and fun interior made it feel welcoming for a friend and I to hang out in, and they also have a couple seating options indoors. Bonus points for labeling the allergens on each flavor.

Delicious! My husband had cookie monster and root beer in a cone that he loved. I had your favorite vanilla with chocolate sauce in a cup and it was delicious! Friendly and nice staff. No step to enter.

Read moreTheir seasonal flavors were so fun and interesting! Brown butter cornbread, for example. I ended up going with Java chip because it was the perfect coffee ice cream flavor. I don’t think you can go wrong with a flavor here.
Oh and even though they use a coconut base, it really doesn’t taste like coconut! (Which I wouldn’t mind, I’m a coconut fan, but I know for some that can be a deal breaker.)

Really loved sampling the unique flavours they had here, and ended up getting the cornbread ice cream, which sounds weird, but was awesome ! Taking off one star because the coconut base was a little too heavy and rich for me by the end of my scoop.

On my recent visit, I indulged in a half-and-half scoop of dark purple ube and Pandan on a gluten-free sugar cone. The flavors were a delightful surprise, each one subtle yet distinct, with a hint of coconut that tied everything together perfectly. The Ube had a rich purple yam profile, while the pandan brought a gentle, sweet aroma that was simply heavenly.
My guy opted for the marionberry and mint chocolate chip, which were both incredible. The marionberry was bursting with fresh, juicy flavor, but the star of the show was undoubtedly the mint chocolate chip. It was so fluffy and light, with just the right amount of mint to leave a refreshing aftertaste without being overpowering.
To top it all off, they offer banana splits for National Ice Cream Day, a perfect treat to celebrate the occasion. The attention to detail and commitment to quality at this ice cream shop is truly commendable. Whether you're vegan, gluten-free, or simply an ice cream enthusiast, this place is a must-visit. You won't be disappointed!
