I’d Pitch Up Here Again Anytime - Edit
Another fine example of my lack of impulse control, and testament to my magpie tendencies, this particular kiosk was not an intended stopping point. Despite being laden with a raft of products from another bakery, I couldn’t resist the siren call of one of the most impressively sized plant-based pastries I have ever laid eyes on. And were it so that this was the only item I bought from here - by the time I’d finished my order, I had to negotiate the walk back to the hotel with two genuine armfuls of bulging paper bags.
Read moreMaking it to my destination without toppling over due to the considerable counterbalance I had bestowed upon myself, I began my scrutiny feast with the Gruner Burger. A veggie patty, accompanied by salad and vegetable remoulade on a soft, sesame kaiser roll, it was the superior of countless similar such creations that I have been subjected to while at well-established lish, higher-end restaurants. An absolute bargain given its excellence, and a promising sign of things to come as I began to tackle the sweeter elements of my haul.
Chosen more because they had a vegan label than the fact I knew exactly what they were (I had zero clue), the fanblocks found in me of fan of them. What transpired to be mini fruit loaves, they were chock-full of their respective fillings and had a satisfyingly dense chewiness. Of the two varieties I had, the lighter hued, seasonal edition was just about my preferred choice.
From the unknown to the culprit behind my impromptu visit: the Apfeltasche. This pillow sized puff of pastry, coated invitingly in icing sugar was just too tempting to ignore and I am beyond pleased to report that it was every bit as good as its alluring appearance suggested it might be.
Finally, I came to the Franzbruchen - and what bake to finish on. This chocolate drizzled beauty was an outright marvel - I genuinely rolled eyes in ecstasy when I first bit into it - and it was gone faster than I could pronounce its name.
Without a shadow of doubt, I can throw my recommendation behind this place and I know, given even a slight chance, I’ll be back.

Average and expensive - Edit
There are a couple of vegan options - sweet and savoury (with dark green labelling), which is very handy for buying something quick before the train journey.
Read moreUnfortunately, the flavour doesn't knock my socks off, I've had better items from other bakeries. The green burger bun with a pea patty was dry, bland and not my cup of tea. The sweet items are quite okay.

okay - Edit
okay baked goods for on the go. close to the platforms for the straßenbahn which is nice.
Read morenot that many vegan options, mostly normal rolls/pretzels. quite expensive for the fact that kamps is a big chain that don't bake their breads freshly. i paid 1,49€ for a mult-grain roll.
