good for a late dinner - Edit
we (2 omni friends and me) went here late in the evening for dinner, at a time where most other (vegan friendly) restaurant had already closed.
Read moremy companions had never tried seitan döner before but were positively surprised by it. even though i think the seitan's texture was weird (closer to bread than to meat lol), it was fine for me as well.
vegan döner is available for the same price as non-vegan (7€).
staff was really friendly and asking if we wanted to omit anything or wanted hot sauce etc. if you eat in, you get reusable plates but single use plastic forks.
card payment from 10€ upwards.

A decent vegan doner supplier - you can trust in - Edit
Decently exciting, mixed-filled dough meal: Antalya Döner shows how it goes.
Read moreVegan Döner
Thick flatbread: Considerably uniquely weighing in - warm, fluffy-soft, slightly crunchy, complemented by beguiling-peculiar nuts & seeds like black cumin & sesame seeds.
Within that, dat contrast, yo!
Hearty half:
Seitan stripes, raftered, deep-fryed + hot, yellow sauce, probably with chili powder
"Beguiling-Savory" - very burning-hot
Fairly afterburn on the lips
Pretty salty
rather considerably than fairly fatty
Refreshing half:
Salad, red cabbage, tomatoes, cucumber + white sauce
"Beguiling-Peculiar" - very refreshing-cold-sour, a bit bitter
The price you pay: YOUR HEALTH! Better eat vegan-healthy-whole-plant-food in your daily routine!
Just alone for compensation and recovery of stuff like said vegan doner!
Aside of that: 6,50 €/portion - as of February 2024.
Other remarkable points:
+ Clear vegan labeling
+ Loud, expressive vegan meal promotion by outdoor sign
+ High availability: Go there at 10AM - you get your decent vegan doner, while lots of other places are closed, yet. Same thing with the end of the day or night. No other place offers you that in Düsseldorf.
+ Warm, calm place to dine at hectic Düsseldorf main railroad station
+ They got better in cooking - or even are getting better? Flashback, 2 years ago, the vegan doner wasn't as good as described, was rather a sub-optimal version of it.
~ Treatment of customers could be more friendly, but think of how hard their job is, standing there in the kitchen almost 7/24
- This restaurant is not vegan - also offers non-vegan stuff

Good taste with bitter taint - Edit
Dürüm quite tasty, if you do not expect a 1:1 equivalent to the meat version. The portion is appropriate for 7€.
Read moreThe service was unfortunately very stroppy, felt bothered to have a customer. Also urged me to use cash instead of paying with card. Next time I would rather go back to the other vegan kebab, which is just around the corner in the Bismarckstraße.

Why can't places like this exist everywhere? - Edit
The vegan dürüm I had surely wasn't the best I ever had, nor is it cheap (on the contrary, I paid 5,90 € which is more than the meat-version) BUT I rate this with four stars nevertheless, because I was so happy that there's a place like this just across the street of the main station, open till late so I could just easy grab a snack on my way home from having a few beers with my friends. As a vegan I usually have to stick to fries or falafel if lucky, to this really made my day. And although this isn't the mind-blowing best vegan street food you'll ever have, it's still good and totally fine to grab when you're in the area.
