What a Gem - Edit
Seems that most of the menu can be made vegan being they have seitan and vegan cheese. I got vegan birria tacos which were delicious: very creative where the base is braised yams and black beans topped with hominy, and everything is enclosed in 2 fried corn tortillas. Very filling. 3 tacos & the consomme for $18. Got the chips and salsa too. The salsa verde was delicious. Drinks were in a cooler (Hank’s, Jarritos, Mexican Coke, water). Service was great (it’s not table service; you order at the counter, and they bring you your food). Decor was cute. One heads up is they don’t appear to have air conditioning if that bothers you. Definitely going back.

Excellent birria tacos - Edit
Birria tacos all everywhere these days, but few authentic spots offer a vegan option. Juana Tamale not only has them, but they are amazing, so glad to live so close!

i love Juana Tamale! their vegan options are amazing and everything i’ve tried is delicious. the staff are also super nice and i love the vibe of the place. i love going for their happy hour because they have a ton of vegan food specials! my favorite specials are 1/2 off the bean and (vegan) cheese burrito and 2 for $6 vegan tamales!

Food was tasty, but can't recommend for Vegans - Edit
So I got the seitan wings and vegan birria. When ordering the wings I was asked if I wanted buffalo or the honey chili. I asked if the honey chili had honey in it, and the person realized why I was asking stating that only hardcore vegans care about honey and it's not an animal by product. The wings are labeled as vegan wings, so this had me doubting what other liberties they may pick and choose. Then to top it off, two out of the three tacos had a piece of beef on the them. I assume it was from cooking on the same grill.
Read moreThe buffalo wings were alright, but I have had better (such as triangle tavern not far away). The tacos did taste good though, but I can't say I will be back due to these issues. There are other places I would much rather support.

I love that they have vegan wings and tamales on the permanent menu. Very tasty. I ordered the wings since the other flavor option had honey. Prices are reasonable for the area and quality of food. Gratuity is included which I didn’t mind and personally support - just FYI.
