Image Cooker, Johor Bahru - Edit
Positives:
Read more1) This venue seems to offer a vegan salad and a vegan tomato soup
2) The steamboat may also be vegan
3) The fresh fruit juice was also nice
4) The server is nice as is the person in the kitchen I spoke with
5) Quite interesting venue, seems a re-purposed ex-industrial facility
These are important to spare this venue a coin toss between a 2 & 3 star rating.
Suggested areas for improvement:
1) There’s no menu marking of items that are vegan by default nor that can be customised as vegan on request
2) The food isn’t the healthiest; lots of dairy, fried items, mock meats, starch but relatively little by way of actual vegetables. Caveat; in hindsight I wish I ordered the steamboat (my mistake, not the venue’s)
3) Both of the mushroom and the pumpkin soup are pre-mixed with cream. Cream as an option to be added would open up more vegan friendly options
4) There’s no brown rice (nor I suspect wholegrain noodles; happy to be corrected on that)
5) No non-dairy milk options (e.g., oat milk, soy milk)
6) No de-caffeinated coffee nor tea
7) The salad dressing is solely vinegar and thus lacks flavour. Salad edibility was rescued by an improvised throwing in a few spoons of tomato soup
8) Staff guidance to reduce the burger in a bun aridity was to add ketchup or the chilli tomato sauce; sub-optimal if you don’t like chilli and have preference to avoid the sugar present in supermarket ketchup
Pros: Seems to have some vegan options, Nice staff
Cons: All vegan is always better, Menu marking vegan items would be an improvement, Lots of other things could be improved

Cute hipster restaurant with decent food - Edit
Interior is hip and the service is friendly! Unfortunately for vegans they don’t have any vegan cheese, mayo or plant based milk for the coffees. Still, worth a visit. I had a tofu burger, but for vegan that didn’t have any sauce in it, but there was some hot sauce and ketchup available so that cut it for me! Also had the nuggets, which i think were made of toru, and they were nice nd crispy!
Read moreAmericano also good and my friends really enjoyed their flavored sodas as well as their chili burgers with tempeh patty!

Pros: Interior, Service, Tofu, tempeh
Cons: Lack of plant based milk (easily available), Lack of vegan mayo (easy to make!), That I dodn’t have a chance to taste everything

By the way; Restaurant is located at the third floor of the building so it is easily missed! Look for the sign! ☺️

Cosy place with unique atmosphere and good food - Edit
A very unique atmosphere and interior design that is different from other restaurants. The food is good and of reasonable price. A cosy place for friend gathering and chit-chatting. The tomyam pizza is really good. But the waitress didn't highlight to us some food contain eggs and didn't ask if we consume eggs, so we unknowingly ordered baked pasta with eggs😒They should be more mindful in highlighting this to their customers.
