Wonderful vegan ice cream and dessert shop and cafe - Edit
Plant based ice cream parlour with amazing cakes, hot drinks and savoury food available, all vegan. 100+ flavour of ice cream on rotation. I had Nutella, rum and raisin ice creams and lemon and ginger sorbet. The sorbet was devine. Huge choice of flavours, hard to decide which to have. Lots of seating and books and board games to play. Very child friendly.

I’m not vegan but…… - Edit
I have been to Manchester many times to visit family and came across the ice shack and wow what an amazing selection of ice cream and cakes. I particularly love the red velvet cake and then the owner leah(so lovely) made red velvet ice cream and all my dreams came true. It was almost a religious experience 😇. I have never tasted anything that good in all my life and I live for eating 🤣I’m not vegan but am very happy to try new things. You get the warmest welcome when you walk through the door and it’s like you’re family. Nothing is too much trouble for Leah the owner and all the staff. It’s a friendly, happy, safe and accepting space for everyone. I felt right at home as soon as I walked in. Every time I come to Manchester this is one of my first stops. It’s a personal challenge of mine to try all of the wonderful flavours of ice cream Leah makes by hand. This is a hidden gem of a place and everyone should go whether you’re vegan or not. It’s life changing. Keep up the good work Leah and can’t wait to come back ♥️

Amazing Vegan Sweet and Savoury Food - Edit
Menu is 100% vegan, they mainly have sweet treats including lots of different ice cream flavours and multiple different cakes but also do some savoury options including a ‘fish’ finger sandwich, ‘chicken’ dinosaur sandwich and soup.

Huge ice cream selection! - Edit
The main thing I was struck by when I entered Ice Shack was the huge ice cream selection! They also had some cakes and savoury offerings but the ice cream is definitely the centrepiece here! I would say there were at least 20 different flavour options and I went for a double scoop of Red Velvet and Biscoff in a waffle cone, with added chocolate sauce, rainbow sprinkles and a Party Ring.
Read moreIt was delicious! The ice cream was creamy and flavoursome and I really enjoyed it. I preferred the Red Velvet to the Biscoff as I just felt it had more flavour, but they were both really good. And I enjoyed the added extras I got, especially the party ring!
My wife went for a golden syrup and Biscoff double scoop combo and also loved hers!

One of my Favourite Places - Edit
Ice Shack is amazing. If you are in Manchester, don’t miss out on a visit, it’s worth coming out of the city centre for. I come here so much and each time is just as delicious as the last. The owner is fab and they have 96 (possibly 97 now) ice cream flavours on rotation. Just a lovely place to be whether you are 5 or 50.

Went here the other week on a little date. We took the dog, who got a little treat, and played connect 4 with some ice cream and cake. The service was brilliant and the owner is such a warm and welcoming host. We will be back soon to try some new flavours, but what we had was incredibly yummy. I had a pistachio and raspberry cake which was incredibly moist in the most delicious way, and my partner had chocolate ice cream. A classic, but by no means boring. It was creamy, tasty, and so chocolatey!! See you soon, ice shack!

Incredible ice cream, very tasty cakes and cupcakes and a super friendly funny and lovely owner!! The biscoff ice cream is super creamy and tastes like you are having an actual biscuit!! The chocolate and peanut butter cake was my favourite. Great place to sit down, have a chat, have a coffee and enjoy great cakes. I also found the board games on the tables a nice distraction and great idea to entertain!!

Those cream egg cakes are all we’ll be baking between now and Easter I think 😅
The choc salted caramel was one of our non gluten containing cakes so definitely has that slightly different texture, completely understandable that that’s not for everyone.
Biscoff continues to be the vegan staple though!

The cakes here are amazing! They are well priced and the selection is always changing. They have a massive variety of ice cream and cakes with some inventive flavours. A wide range of herbal teas which is a plus! The customer service is outstanding - the staff are friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!! Loads of fun board games to play!

Our third visit here (we aren't local) and my 8 year old is already asking if we can visit again next time we are in Manchester!
Read moreWe had Halloween influenced cakes (huge slices) accompanied by delicious hot drinks. The star of the show however was the huge range of ice creams of all kinds of flavours. We tried to go for ones which are unusual so included cinnamon and pumpkin pie - the former was wonderful in particular. The kids happily played on the wide range of games that are available which keeps them all happy, so it would be a great place to bring children where they won't get bored hopefully.
It's in a small road tucked away by Withington Library - this does mean it is close to quite a few bus routes which stop outside or nearby so its great if you are reliant on public transport. Definitely a must-do when we are next visiting.
Pros: delicious food, wonderful owner, loads of games to keep the small people happy

Despite being totally full from dinner at nearby Lotus, we managed to squeeze in a Biscoff and banoffee flavored ice cream with a slice of cake to go. The ice cream and cone were yum and a really good price. The vanilla cake with a jam and cream centre was perfectly moist and flavorful despite being a little on the small side. Next time, I need to try the Oreo cake!

Such a lovely little ice cream shop! The ice creams are some of the best vegan ice cream I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot 😋) and there’s so many amazing flavours! The gluten free options are great - they offer a gf cone!! The cakes and bakes are also super yummy. As a bonus you can play some board games while you’re there.
