Vegan Options for Savoury Menu, Desserts, Drinks

The popular Japanese teahouse Hvala shifted their flagship outlet from CHIJMES to this new location in mid-June 2024. Unlike their other outlets which only sell desserts and drinks, this particular outlet also has a savoury menu, such as the vegan Tofu & Mushroom Ochazuke / Soba. I know Hvala drew some flak some time back for pivoting away from their more vegan-friendly concept, but I appreciate that they still have quite a number of vegan options, including gelato, parfait, brownie, and waffles; soy mylk swap without additional charges for drinks; or the recent Vegan Matcha Macchiato Christmas special. Looking forward to even more vegan creations especially for mains and pastries! There is also a retail corner selling tea-themed merchandise, such as conversation cards, pins, tote bags, whisking sets, etc. This particular branch is within walking distance from City Hall MRT (EW13/NS25), Bras Basah MRT (CC2), and Bencoolen MRT (DT21)~

Authentic Japanese Vegetarian Feast

They offered three refreshingly light vegetarian main dishes and a variety of vegan desserts. The tea was as good as the one I had in Japan, and if you're lucky, please sit at the tatami pods, this is what makes the experience feel even more authentic.

Pros: Vegan desserts, Vegetarian Mains
